LookAtThisPOst
I saw a recent discussion somewhere saying that when they see the "People You May Know" showing up in the column, it's people that they've been in touch with via the dating sites. I'm not sure how FB is getting this information, but some theorized that it may be in your cookies or temp files that are somehow allowing this to happen. Some have theorized it was because someone searched your name, but I'm thinking it's more the former. Thoughts?

PegNosePete
One website can't read another website's cookies. Probably they have shared e-mails with the person, and they have set facebook to automatically import email contacts. I want to know why it always advertises hair regrowth serums to me. I've never searched for that. Is it watching my photos or something to assess my hair amount?
Erik30
It's probably because they searched for them. I think a lot of people just lie about it because It's not something most want to admit doing.
hippychick3
There are old dating site people in my suggested friends who I only communicated with by phone but no email exchange. The dating sites were linked with a different email than I use for Facebook..I'm thinking there is some link with my phone number and Facebook? But, if that were the case, there would be way more suggested friends with no mutual friends. It's very creepy when I see people there who were never even given my name (on one site, it was an anonymous username).

I don't think this is the case, One website can't read another website's cookies. The shared applications and the cookies or temp files on YOUR computer that's tying it all together.
