FolderWife
I LOVED One A Day Weight Smart vitamins with Green Tea extract. I'd take one every day with breakfast. Now, however, whenever I take one, It makes me feel like I need to puke about fifteen minutes later. So I got scared and stopped taking them. I always took them with a meal like I was supposed to...any ideas why I suddenly stopped being able to take them? Did I get some bad vitamins?
Author FolderWife
Well, I may have found my answer I just pulled up their website, and one a day has made a "New Formula" with "33% more Chromium than the origional formula"...aka 33% more of a metabolism promoting nutrient than the original formula. aka...more chromium makes me sick. So if I can find the old formula...I'll be fine
LucreziaBorgia
I take those too, and if I take them on an empty stomach I get sickish.

JenDoe
I have found that I just can't take any vitamin unless I've just eaten a meal....as in, taking the vitamin at the END, not the beginning.
Syncerity
it could be your body reacting to it..if you havent been takin them all ya life or u took them for a while and then stopped, it takes ya body sometime to get used to it..my mommy makes me take like 20 vitamins a day and at first i would get sick within a few minutes of taking them *body has quick reaction time to sickness, thanks alot whataburger*..but yea after i kept taking them the queazy feelin n my stomach subsided...and yea eating before taking them is a good deal too
lostgirl26
I too had this problem with any multivitamins. I found out it was the iron content in the vitamins. So I started taking women's multivitamin time release from GNC. I do not get that sick feeling any more and I sort of get a small boost in the afternoon. I felt without the vitamins I was dragging through out the day.
shygurl
For me, I learned the hard way that I can sadly no longer take multi-vitamins that contain B vitamins because I have Interstitial Cystitis (chronic inflammation of the lining of the bladder - when it flares up, it feels like having the most intense bladder infection ever, it's horrid)........and B vitamins apparently irritate the bladder. Go figure? For years I would wonder why I was suddenly having a flare-up that would sometimes last 3 or more days (excrutiating)...and I tried to figure out WHAT was triggering it. I did some reading and sure enough, people w/ IC often have flare-ups due to this. It sucks because they're good for energy and stress.
Fun2BMe
I wonder if i get bladder infections from the B vitamins i take. that is a good insight i was not aware of. thanks. Also, sometimes I feel like vomiting when I take vitamins. Maybe I'm not used to the nutrition when the food we eat lack any.

B Vits couldn't cause a bladder infection - bladder infections (or "urinary tract infections" aka UTIs) are strictly caused by bacteria in the bladder/urinary tract.......which can be caused by an elevation in the pH of the urine (too alkaline which makes it a great place for bacteria to grow) and can only be treated by the proper antibiotics. With Interstitial Cystitis, even though the symptoms are almost identical to a bladder infection (although having had a zillion UTIs, I can tell you that the symptoms of IC are way more intense), the B Vits seem to irritate the lining of the bladder...causing inflammation..........but not to be mistaken with a UTI. Fun2BMe
this is great info. Do you know what causes urine to become alkaline?
