Wife is changing for the worse.

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of people and most of them are men...Without any declaration or discussion, there isn't a single one that if left home while their wives had to work, would not do their very best to take care of the kids and keep things clean and tidy around the house...do the laundry, etc...

This scenario happened to a good friend of mine...He got laid off due to a disability...Not only did he do all of those things, he completely restored the house they live in and put a small addition off the living room..And this guy is a tattooed up biker type who made his living as an iron worker...

So of the guys you know, if put in that situation, how many would just hang around the house in their pajamas all day and leave the house a mess and the kids unattended to??

Some of the guys I know (usually exes of women I know, and 'exes' for a good reason!) would do just that, and some wouldn't. We don't know which one the OP is, which is the whole point of asking.

My ex (kids dad) from long ago was the guy who did nothing while I was at work all day. He didn't even take care of the kids because one was in school all day and he said he couldn't take care of the pre schooler because then he wouldn't be able to look for a job so the youngest went to daycare while my ex came up with one excuse after the other as to why he couldn't get a job but the truth was he wasn't even trying.

Yes I have sympathy for the person who has issues that makes it hard for them to hold down a job, however I also have empathy for the people who have to live with the people who can't keep a job. When someone can't keep a job due to poor people skills or for whatever other reason do you seriously think their issues are contained to the work environment? My ex also used to quit or be fired from jobs on a regular basis. The reasons being that wherever he worked he had some delusional belief that he should run the show and that he was somehow special and irreplaceable so he would refuse to take instructions or even compromise. He would make unreasonable demands and then quit on the spot if his demands weren't met. Do you think he dropped that crappy entitled personality when he was outside the work environment? I can assure you that he did not. The traits that made him difficult to work with also made him difficult to live with. He was always getting into confrontations with people and many people simply did not like him.

I think the OP would have garnered more support had he said he found it difficult to hold a job due to some disability, like a learning disability or a bad back or even due to depression. Saying it's just because he's not a people person indicates that he doesn't have a disability but that he has an attitude problem.

Too many generalizations.....

I got a pretty crappy attitude at my workplace, especially when things don't go my way...but I'm entitled to.... I'm the boss....:pThey don't like it they can leave....Once I leave here, though all is different..I am much calmer and even tempered...So your hypothesis really is just hearsay...

Lets forget it at this point....Ill agree with Els...Not enough info to make a valid judgement call..:)
