Now I need some advice...

I went out with a girlfriend the other week, a few days after being dumped.... we were going to see a band and as she had started to see a new guy, I told her that if she wanted to bring him along, that would be fine.

So we have a few drinks and then head off to see the band... as soon as they come on stage, she starts snogging this guy (really snogging! She's 26, he's 32!).

So, I understand its a new thing and its OK, but I had no one to talk to (other than the bouncer), was feeling a bit sad about my breakup but soldiered on for a while...

Until it got to the point when they were annoyed that I was interrupting their pashing to ask if they wanted a drink; to tell them that I was going to the bathroom... you know?

I'd had a few drinks, was emotional and hadn't eaten, so I finally got fed up. Told them that I was leaving, that I thought it was rude of them to ignore me and I left... (however there was a shortage of cabs so I let them share mine). We got back to her house and I left in a huff... and there have been no words between us since then.

THEN, today I get an email from her bloke, asking if he can come in and see me to drum up some business?

I don't know what to reply? I personally think she should have contacted me, but hey....

I want to make it up to her, but I don't think I was in the wrong... I'm happy to send an email, but I don't want to bend over and accept the blame. Or am I being too harsh?

He (or they both do) work for a stationery company - he wants to get into printing all our corporate stationery etc. He has a rep that he usually deals with...

I know that's what you get going out with couples - but call me naive, I thought friends counted for something. It was just going to be us gals but I knew she wanted me to meet him, so I told her to bring him along.

Besides, he has just left his wife of 6 years for my friend [apparently the marriage was crap for the last 3 years, whatever] so one would think someone would be a bit sensitive....

I know what you're saying, but I don't want to stew on this - I want my mate back!!!

Thanks AndyJ - and you're right - he may have been breaking the ice.

Yes I did act like a dumpling (but I'm so good at it!) and no, she'd been drinking tequila - she wouldn't have known if I was the easter bunny, let alone being upset or not!

How many bottles did you have last night??? Swans by 12 it is, and the Saints to win tonight.

I did reply to my the email from my friends BF today, with no mention to the night that we went out. I told him I couldn't help - but offered him the name of someone that could help.

I also asked him to say hi to my friend.... which I thought was a good start. He then replied saying "how've you been?" which I thought was quite strange... but I guess he is just being nice.

Oh well, time will tell all I guess.

Have a good weekend - go the Swans!
