Being good with people is risky?

I live in Middle East and I work as cabin crew.I am from East Europe.

In the company building downstairs is living one street cat which I am feeding and petting with the rest of my good colleagues from building.

 

In the same building downstairs is bank and there is working at night one security guy from Ghana.He is new at this location and as I am friendly with everybody he came talking how he sees me petting cat all the time,but from the start he is so pushing.First day we spoke he asked me where am I from,my name,how to say this,how to say that in my language.The next time I saw him he came straight to me and then saying"now I have you,you can make me tickets in your company,I never flew with your airline"?!?!?!?!

 

My problem is that I am too nice with people and this is not the first example,sometimes I think that I will never learn to keep distance with people.I never learned to say no.Sometimes I feel that even very good people try to use you when they feel they can.

I started feeding cat then at day time when he is not in bank,and today I saw him at night and he said so you changed the shift,acting disappointed in me???

I am coming down to chill with the cat,not to be annoyed by someone,and we have saying when you give one finger,people want whole hand.It is soooo true.

Also I don't feel safe here,what would be the next thign he would try to find out about me.

i live (health) in the Middle East as well ...

 

i been here 5 years and i can only advice you so to toughen up . Women are easily being used if they come across to friendly . You give them them the small finger they take the whole arm . So learn to keep ur distance and dont be overly friendly

 

Try to see how the local women act and be careful whom you are friendly with . i could write a Book about my experiences here . Thank god i will be leaving next month for good ... i clearly had enough
