MisUnderstood1
I really want to do this grad program, but my overall average in undergrad is about a 65%, which is a 2.0, I believe. I did well in my major courses (Philosophy) but not so well in electives such as Psychology. Psychology, of all courses. I always did terrible in Psychology courses; I'm not sure why I kept taking them as electives. The tests were always multiple choice and there were times when I almost failed them. The minimum admission requirement for the grad program I'm interested in is a BA degree, minimum second class (I'm not sure what GPA this would be?). I've looked it up but seem to get different answers. It has been impossible getting a job with my Philosophy degree. I've thought about doing a second degree in Health Sciences and I have gotten into a school for this, with tons of transfer credits and will finish in 4 semesters (2 years). My plan was to do the second degree, do well and try my luck for grad school. But I am thinking if I should try my luck with grad school now by doing the GRE and aceing it (I know I've to get better with taking multiple choice tests if I want to do well), getting good recommendations and doing volunteer research, then apply next year. I am 29 years old, so age is no longer on my side. I have been looking at grad programs and have found two I would love to do, with this being the main one. I took a course in this subject and got an A+ and thoroughly enjoyed it too, so I know it's something I would do well in. It's also a good field and I believe I should be able to find work in it. Should I get a second degree or try my luck with grad school? Edited July 13, 2016 by MisUnderstood1
