Artifact
I tweeze the occasional hair on my face (I'm a woman), but am having to tweeze too often it seems! I always thought that tweezing was removing the hair at the root. But, I am noticing the hairs growing back sometimes as soon as the next morning. I assumed that maybe I was "breaking" the hair instead of truly "plucking" it, but I'm not so sure. Does tweezing last a while (like, weeks?) for anyone here?
smile95
not weeks, but it should not grow back the next day? I do my eyebrows and have to get them done 1x a month. Whether I wax or pluck, they always grow back. THe hair follicle is still alive and kickin' unless you have that new type of hair removal procedure.
JPMorgan
some of us just have faster growing hair -- I can pluck that pesky chin hair out in the morning and feel it growing back in the evening. It will bother me for two days before its long enough to grab with the tweezers and pluck it out again.
Horse
I pluck my nose hair out. They usually stay gone for a week or two.
laRubiaBonita
when you get the root, yes....that hair is No more. But an ew hair root grows into the folical. Otherwise waxing would be a perminant option, not a repeat service. And, did you know Smoking increases the wirey chin hairs? yep. look at the older women smokers and see if can't find a whisker! I didn't know that. If that's true, I'm gonna start waxing my eyebrows rather than tweezing then. I tweeze my brows every 2-3 days, but I think everyone's hair grows at a different rate. Zaira
I have read that plucking facial hair only makes them grow back worse, and for me it seems to be the case I can't understand why though. There is a drug called "Aldactone" which is supposed to be great for removal of facial hair though (and promotes growth of hair on the head - once again I don't know how that works ). I also think there are minimal side effects with it, so you might want to ask your doc, which is what I'm going to do next time I go. For now though I just keep plucking, but it sucks that I have to spend more and more time doing it
