the_lost_1
Hi all, how are you? New here. I hope you're doing ok. Well here's my problem, I can't seem to find a girlfriend. I go to school, am trying to find a professional career, and I'm almost 30.....I never had a girlfriend ever, never kissed, nothing. So this is probably depressing, but what can I do? Is there anything I can do at all? It seems like I'm stuck being alone and lonely forever. A bit about me, I'm hard of hearing meaning sometimes I get confused in communication, and sometimes don't know what to say or how to respond. But yea....that's pretty much it I guess. Perfect-hearing people just want someone easier to communicate or talk with, I guess. I don't know what to say or what to do. Take care Edited August 8, 2016 by a LoveShack.org Moderator
Author the_lost_1
Also, I did text girls saying if they want to grab lunch but I always get rejected. Well I did manage to have one with that girl but she has boyfriend and she's just a friend.

Perfect-hearing people just want someone easier to communicate or talk with, I guess. I don't know what to say or what to do. Take care Hey best thing to do is start feeling better about yourself before you proceed with getting into a relationship! Start going to the gym, maybe change your style, get a new hair cut possibly? Start doing things that make you happy. Join a club at your school, go to start ups, and do anything else that you think will improve your overall happiness. My brother suffered through depression, had little friends, and wanted a girlfriend so bad. He sought help, took medication to give him that "little boost" he needed in order to feel better again. Now, he's in a top program for his profession and has a very nice, and pretty girlfriend. He's much happier because he focused on himself before anything else. He goes to the gym, he's in great shape and even changes up his hair style from time to time. Now I told you all that because I think maybe you could benefit the same way he did if you focus on YOU first. I'm not saying to start taking medications, but don't rule it out because there's nothing to be ashamed about. Good luck. Everything will work out

KamaKyzie
Hi all, how are you? New here. I hope you're doing ok. Well here's my problem, I can't seem to find a girlfriend. Perfect-hearing people just want someone easier to communicate or talk with, I guess. I don't know what to say or what to do. Take care Sorry to hear you feel that way. Here's some advice Have you ever asked out a girl before? If not, start doing it. Rejection sucks, but not knowing is far worse. The only way to get better at something is to practice and build confidence.Talk to girls and you'll get better. If you are out of shape, start an exercise and diet routine to improve your physique. Stick it out long enough and it'll become a habit. The hardest part is always starting, once you start it flows from there and it'll also build your self confidence. What's your body language like? Even if you're not confident, act it. Perceptions are everything. I'm a fit and good looking guy but I'm terrified in social situations. However, the people around don't know that and I don't let them. If you act confident you start to feel it and it makes you more appealing to those around you. Ask a female friend about how you can improve your dress/fashion/hairstyle. They will want to help you and it can go a long way to improving your confidence and appeal. Just some advice for you and I hope everything works out.
morrowrd
Well it seems as though you need some personal reform in the area of communication. There is alot of stuff online, but I recommend the old fashioned way, books. Go to your closest Barnes and Noble, and find some books to help. Suzette Hayden Elgin is an author I recommend, but look around for yourself. Find a few, a good chair and read up, buy one or two to start with, keep a notebook about areas you want to change, and work on it. Start a workout program too if you don't already have one. Buff up some of that flab, build up your confidence, and start resisting that whiny depression. You'll be surprised at the results.
smackie9
I agree with one of the posters.....seek out a hearing therapist and get fitted for a hearing aid.
kendahke
Do you date hearing impaired women? Do you sign? Is this a matter of you just want a girlfriend and any cog will fit into the wheel? Or do you want to get to know a person for who they are, not what they can do for you --as in be your girlfriend?

It's available at Amazon Kindle in digital version.
longjohn
That depends on balance. I know a guy that met his first gf from yahoo chat (they were together for years) and then another girl on Paltalk. Both of them girls were not in his area and his social skills are better than some who go out and socialise a lot more than he does. He even picks up on peoples ''tells'' and stuff they do when uncomfortable, bored, lying etc. Maybe the reason for the decline is not as simple as we think. Good God Yahoo Chat is not the place to meet a gf. Is Yahoo Chat even still around? I've known people that have met on it long ago and all starts out well then usually ends up like a Jerry Springier episode. I would imagine there's some "online" that can navigate both the virtual world and the real world without issue. The issue being many are great keyboard warriors then fall flat on their face in the real world. The issue remains I believe, get out into reality and away form the computer form time to time. Which I know can be difficult or scary for some people. Maybe the online world can help those like that get together?

Or do you want to get to know a person for who they are, not what they can do for you --as in be your girlfriend? I doubt 'a bit hard of hearing' denotes an extent of impairment that requires sign language, probably just needs a hearing aid. Lots of old people use one.
Author the_lost_1
Hi guys thanks for responding. Haha yes I remember yahoo chat but I never used that, but I was chatting on msn messenger a lot in my teen years, those were good times. I never learned sign, but I do wear cochlear implant though. Maybe if I finally find a good paying career then I'll find one?
Author the_lost_1
I entered the new program at my college last September and people have been nice. It's amazing how different people can be in various academic programs.
Toodaloo
I never learned sign, but I do wear cochlear implant though. Maybe if I finally find a good paying career then I'll find one? Get your career for you not a woman. Second why so down on the fact you have hearing problems? In the past year I have dated 2 guys with hearing problems. One turned me down (bit weird that actually as he was really into me then freaking out), the other we decided from day one to be friends and we still are. Trust me he has NO problems pulling the ladies and he has finally settled into a relationship and is happy. Quit making excuses. Guys (and Gals) get turned down all the time, every day. Those who are successful get back up and go ask someone else they fancy! They just keep at it. So keep going and you will get there.
deep_night
aw, i imagine how hard it must be for you to be in a noisy public place and having to converse with someone who doesn't sit very near (even with a hearing aid). i dont' even have much hearing impairment, but still i get very uncomfortable in this kind of setting. speaking for myself, i wouldnt mind at all dating someone who has hearing impairment. if anything, it would make me feel more affection for them. but im weird, so i probably dont count :3 but yeah. im certain you'll find yourself a girlfriend, just don't give up! Gaeta
I never learned sign, Sounds like your implant is not enough. My daughter has graduated college as a sign language interpret. It's very interesting and there are many associations and groups for people to get together. I think it's something you should look into.....and speaking sign language is very sexy ;-)
