Nowty V
Hyper Awareness/ Hyper Vigilance Are they the same thing? Is it a positive or negative trait. I've been aware of the mode in stressful human interaction situations, I get a complete avalanche of discreet data items from the environment. It can be quite fatiguing. Does anyone have any experience? Edited August 12, 2016 by Nowty V Grammar
jen1447
The BF has passed some of that methodology and conditioning on to me for safety purposes (I typically play the 'guardian' role w my GFs), so yeah I'm familiar. I'd say it's a positive trait bc it's subconscious when you've actually gotten acclimated to it. If you were constantly assessing everything consciously I could see how that could be fatiguing. I think it's diff than crisis response btw. That's where all your senses go on at once due to danger and anyone can experience it. It's just a physiological response. (Think seeing fine detail of events happening in quick succession and time seeming to slow down, etc.) The awareness/vigilance thing by contrast is just routinely registering mundane info that most ppl probably miss/dismiss/ignore. Anyway it's served me well a few times. Always good to see sth coming before it happens.
