soconfused47 Posted August 22, 2016 Share Posted August 22, 2016 So, I have been online dating for a year or so with several breaks in membership whole I fostered unsuccessful relationships. I recently joined some meetup groups and attended one meetup. The meetup was at a restaurant/bar and it was just a big hook up fest even though it was suppose to be an adventurers group. Anyway, I have been shy to attend anymore after the uncomfortable feeling I had having several men hit on me that I knew absolutely nothing about and realizing that was the theme of the night. This is what sparks my question... what have others experienced and which avenue has been more successful for them, online dating or meetup groups? 1 Link to post Share on other sites
Michelle ma Belle Posted August 23, 2016 Share Posted August 23, 2016 What type of meet up group did you join that turned out to be a hook-up event? :/ I've attended a bunch of meet-up groups but they are primarily groups that focus on hobbies or activities (yoga, knitting, book club etc.) that I'm interested in and not anything specifically geared to dating or hooking up. As much as I prefer meeting men organically it just doesn't happen as often as I would like because of my busy life and career so OLD has been my go to off and on over the last 7 years. So my 'success' seems to lay with OLD than meet-ups right now. Link to post Share on other sites
