Feminine Energy

Recommended Posts

Masculine and feminine energy have come up in quite a few threads here. Masculine energy is usually somewhat defined, but feminine energy is rather vague. According to various threads here, in the context of early dating, masculine energy involves planning/paying for dates, initiating communication, and general pursuit. Here are my questions:

  • What exactly is feminine energy?
  • What does a woman mean when she says "I respond to his masculine energy with my feminine energy"?
  • What are some actions one would associate with feminine energy?

To answer your question, in terms of dating- if paying for the date is masculine, letting the man pay for the date is feminine. I have been out with men before who get irritated when I offer to pay. It's entering into their territory and blurring the lines of their role, and they don't like it. Likewise, being receptive to his date plan and enthusiastic about whatever date he plans. Letting him show you a good time. When men initiate communication and pursue, we are supposed to respond respond respond and show that we are receptive to him pursuing us.

Why do you think feminine energy is vague?

I meant the concept of feminine energy is vaguely described in the various posts I've seen on here. The posts give examples of actions associated with masculine energy, but they don't give examples of actions associated with feminine energy.

This seems to contradict a few masculine/feminine energy associations often espoused on these forums. Some examples:

  • A male with healthy masculine side would not self sacrifice for a woman due to value of his own life. This also means women with a healthy feminine side would self sacrifice for a man due to valuing the life of others.
  • A healthy feminine side would pay on dates due to being giving and selfless.

[*]A healthy feminine side would pay on dates due to being giving and selfless.

I think because paying signifies power- having money means being the provider, being in control, having all the power. Her needing your money puts you in control. The feminine selfless and giving side means being affectionate, loving, doting on him with caregiving (this is why lots of women like to cook for their man or do his laundry). Being selfless, well...all the times we put your needs above ours. Skillful women do this so well and so often you don't even know we're doing it.

Can you elaborate on this? I want to see if I've been missing some things.

One example is when guys ask us where we want to eat, or what we want to eat and we say "I dunno" in that really annoying way. The truth is, we probably know exactly what WE want to eat, but by not answering, we're putting your preferences above ours. I'd say the majority of things women do that annoy men are for a similar reason.

That's why it's so difficult for a group of women to make a decision on where to eat. The instinct to be polite is so overwhelming no decisions ever get made. Until the alpha of the group speaks up. She's usually single or dating a guy who is okay with letting her call the shots all the time.

Feminine energy is not about giving "money" lol.... she gives her warmth, her caring, her adoration, her caring, her understanding, her respect.

Her enthusiasm.... in *response* to HIS pursuit.

Yin and yang, feminine and masculine = healthy balance of complementary energies.

This is the strangest thing I've ever read. I can't begin to imagine me or my girlfriends waiting to see what others do before ordering.

The only time I will say "I dunno" is when there are so many fabulous choices that I can't decide. But my lack of decision is not at all about my partner. And I will decide in the end.

Actually, if I discovered my partner thought me being slow to decide was about him, I'd be having second thoughts about him.

Which is why i said it was just an example- of how women could act selfless, since the theory is that being selfless is a feminine quality. And I didn't mean that the man assumes she's being indecisive to put his needs first, the entire point was that women who are selfless to that degree do it so often it's not obvious to their partners.

Anyway perhaps you are not often selfless, or selfless in other ways.

^To add: My ex used to say to me ...

"You are so damn feminine, I love how you respond to me, god it turns me on!"

And I would respond "And your masculinity turns ME on!"

Then we would proceed to have mind blowing sex! :bunny:

Doesn't get much better than that! :)

I am very much in touch with my feminine side.

I`ve had loads of drinks bought for me.

Mind you i spilt a lot of them as well.

Feminine Energy..... My better half wondering aimlessly in the kitchen looking for snacks, wearing my Chelsea away top, whilst humming a Taylor Swift song while the kiddies swirl around her legs.

Gets me right there.

So you're basically saying that feminine energy is about annoying men? I know I'm an anomaly, but are men supposed to find this attractive?

My mistake. I took the "giving and selfless" in the general sense. You've clarified that it involves giving in a very specific, non-tangible sense.
I love how you respond to me
How did you respond to him? I don't want sexual details. He did X... you did Y. What is Y?

But how is not wanting to make a decision on a menu being selfless? To me, it screams "incapable of own thought"

No offense, AMJ, but I do not have this problem with my GFs.

I am not one to think that "feminine energy" equates to docile and placating. That's some backwards, 1950s thinking right there. If a man can't handle my preference of restaurant, he's not the one for me.

I love how a conversation about feminine energy so swiftly descends into who pays and if it is feminine to pay for dates...

... its just so predictable and rather sad.

So on that note I am going to use my feminine magic powers and energy to flip out of this and go back to my little delusional world where everything is peachy...:o

This thread is not about paying for dates. I used the paying for dates topic because that's where masculine and feminine energy are often brought up. If these topics were not linked together by other posters in other threads, I would not have included this in the original post.

With that being said, why don't you share your insight on feminine energy? I have three questions in the original post.

i associate feminine energy with being responsive, emotional, nurturing, passive, patient, intuitive, cute, vain, flirty

but tbh i dont think any woman has ALL of these, we're all a mix of feminine and masculine! it's just that some of us are more feminine and some more masculine personalities no matter what our gender or sexual orientation is.

Honesty I think it's just a pop culture notion and phrase to go with. If "energy" is motivation or drive and the ability to exercise it, anyone can have it or not and it can manifest in any number of ways based on sensibilities that have nothing to do w gender really. As far as I can tell anyway.

If what ppl mean by that is a socio-sexual feminine yin to a masculine yang, then that's just sexual dynamics, not some nebulous "energy."

Just like I said. In this thread and other thread.

Enthusiastically! Positively!

With HIGH interest! :bunny:

It made him feel great, as it confirmed that how he was pursuing me was working.

He was doing all the right things!

How could all that NOT make him feel great!

He did not, nor did he need me to ask him out, pay or otherwise pursue him to make him feel that way.

All he needed was my positive and enthusiastic response to HIM, as a man, my lover... to make him feel awesome .

What exactly is feminine energy?

Charisma, the divine middle ground between vulnerability and strength, dignity and poise. Knowledge of oneself and the world around them.

What does a woman mean when she says "I respond to his masculine energy with my feminine energy"?

I have no idea. If I were being cras I would say when he whops his willy out I play with it.

But all I can say is that if a man acts with dignity, grace and respect towards me. I will do the same in return. If he doesn't then he will be seeing a good view of my rear as I walk away. Or if its really bad, my fist as I give him semi permanent eye shadow...

What are some actions one would associate with feminine energy?

Kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, to be feminine these days is really hard work...

Probably why I suck at it.
