Looking for an OLD profile pic critiquing site/service

So I have gone back to online dating with my tail between my legs, I just don't meet girls in real life so it's kinda last chance saloon stuff. I am using Tinder at the moment as I want to avoid the overhead involved in writing an OK Cupid profile. However it has been a rotten experience so far, I am testing out pics by using GPS spoofing to swipe in a nearby area so I don't 'poison the well' in my local area with crap pics. I am quite a selective swiper (I am picky but I am not after a supermodel, I have a much less 'generic' sense of attraction) so I don't expect many matches but even so I have had so few I have become quite liberal just to see who I can match with and from the fact I am not getting any reply to my opening message and the feel of the people I am matching with I get the impression that I am matching with girls who are swiping with reckless abandon so they are having to burn through loads of others before I am even seen. This is really disappointing because I think my main profile pic is pretty much the best I have of me and projects the right image I have of myself.

 

So I feel I totally need to go back to the drawing board here. I have a folder full of pics (seriously loads) from the last year or so but obviously no idea which are the ones I should be using. So are there any sites/services people can recommend where people gently and fairly critique profile pictures? I want to avoid hot or not or somewhere were people's egos can taint the advice they give- eg some people seem to get an ego boost from putting others down so I want to avoid 'hot or not' style sites. I can take criticism so long as it is constructive.

 

Any ideas gratefully received. It is so frustrating wanting to change things and improve but not knowing how through lack of a decent feedback loop. I have tried following the general tips offered by some blog sites in terms of styles of pic to use but I think now I need some feedback specifically tailored towards me.

 

And for the record I have tried asking female friends/workmates, unfortunately they are so engrossed in their own lives that they pay lip service to my request but never really allow any time for it. Fair enough, it's not their problem. So I have to throw this open to the internet.

You could try that - you would have to sign up though of course so they could see.

I saw a TV show recently where they had this thing that analyses photos for things like 'alpha male, beta male, approachableness.

Approachableness is what you are aiming for on OLD. The guy who had all the pics up thought the one I personally liked was his most awful pic. However, the machine it was fed into - it turned out it was his best choice for OLD. Me and the machine agreed!

When I had a profile up, I went on Craigslist and there are 'OLD dating coaches'.

 

Some will take an initial look at your profile for free. Others will charge you 20 or 50 bucks to give you advice.

 

One told me to get rid of a couple of pics and I did. She was also pretty honest, she was like this one is OK, this one is bad, this one is good. So only if it was bad did I take it off.

Nope.

 

I also had my verbal profile redone by both somebody here and the aforementioned dating coach and no different results.

 

You wanna hear something funny? My girlfriend used on her profile a picture that was around 8 years old. I never noticed and when I saw the picture in her photobook, I thought it was funny as h@ll.

 

Who cares? She looked hot then and she looks hot now.

 

So, it's pretty obvious I'm of the school that photos don't matter that much, but ... some people definitely feel different.

Yeah, it gets disappointing when it comes to your friends trying to aid you in helping you find someone, be it feedback or being a wingman/woman.
