ThumbingMyWay
Wife and I went to a concert this past weekend and had the baby sitter spend the night so she didnt have to drive home. Sunday morning.....she gave us a heart filled compliment that I will never forget. She said that she sits for about 5 other families. And that if she could only sit for one family it would be ours. She said that our kids are the most behaved out of all the kids she watches. She said that they listen, are polite and sweet. She told us that she thinks we as parents are good people and are doing a good job raising our children. Feels good to get this compliment.....makes me feel like I am doing the right things with my children, even though at times...I think I am doing the wrong thing..... Our sitter is only 16, but she has a good head on her shoulders. We trust her, we care about her. And it return, she looks up to us, respects us and loves our kids. Hope she stays interested for another few years....she is a good person and I am thankful she is our sitter.
tiki
Awwwww. Well ain't that tweet? How'd you find her? My H and I have discussed finding a local babysitter for our children if anything ever comes up and we want to go out (when we have them), but we don't even know where to start?! What age babysitter would you recommend?
Author ThumbingMyWay
We found her on the church bulliten board. She was 14 when she started. And she is great with kids. She has a disabled brother, so she is very responsible for her age. She is active in Church and is just an all around good kid. Very polite and good manners and good upbringing....she is not the typical teenager.....shes not sassy or has attitude....I believe its mostly from a good up bringing and still being active in church at age 16....and that is hard to come by. As for age....she was 14, BUT she has good morals. Personally I wouldnt have anyone younger that 14 for a babysitter....as least for young babys. Mine are 3 and 6 now so its a little easier than when they were babies.
tiki
Thanks for the info. You do the transportation? How much do you pay a babysitter (normally) if you don't mind me askin'.
Author ThumbingMyWay
She just got her license so she drives now. BUT, yes we would drive her to and from her home. We were paying $5 per hour for 2 kids.....but we upped it to $6 when she started driving. I know some people that pay $10 per hour for 2 kids
