Hi everyone

I won't waste much of your time dear reader, here is my story briefly and concisely: I was in a lecture this semester and I was sitting next to a beautiful girl whom I just got on well with at first encounter. The thing is I asked for her number and she said 'NO'.I was quick to accept that answer and I interrupted her, when she was trying to explain why she declined, saying it's okay because she need not to worry. What's confusing me now is that the girl has approached a female of mine, with whom I stay in the same neighborhood, asking her if there is anything going on between herself and I. My friend told her that we just neighbors. On another occasion she asked my friend something she already knows..she was like 'hey you talk to that guy?' ( referring to me) and abruptly cut the conversation by excusing herself and suddenly rushing to the rest rooms. On my part I never bothered to pursue her number because my phone was playing up but I have continued to be nice to her..that is..greeting her with a warm smile whenever I see her and she returns the smile too.......Gentle reader I need your input...should I put her at the back of mind and move on keeping on searching or must I ask for the number again ( a prospect I'm not particularly in favour of pride).....is there hope or its just stupid mind games?

Why did you interrupt her? The confusion is all caused because you weren't willing to receive communication from her unless it was what you wanted to hear. So you basically played a game with yourself.

What you should learn from this is don't interrupt people.

It's really rude and inconsiderate to interrupt people.

You took her 'no' and decided to interrupt because you chose to assume the 'no' was all about you.

A 'no' isn't always going to be all about you. She has her own life to stuff to deal with as do all of us and she could have been explaining to you that was going on for her but you didn't have the courtesy to listen.

Thanks Herbalist and GemmaUK....I have come to realise that interrupting people is really rude....I think its one of my weaknesses because I' m impatient with people at times.

That's the point Preraph. if she was interested she would have given me the number....but then why is she acting like she is interested going about asking my friend about me, smiling at me and all that?
