Recommended Posts

I dont know if this is the correct place for this thread? its about personal well being and or the lack there of so I took a guess...but anyways I just woke up about 30 mins ago and I feel like crap the thing is I cant stop dreaming at night like literally its every night now and its from the time I lay my head down until the time I wake even getting up mutable times a night to pee dose nothing to stop this I will just lay back down and restart a new dream and im really tired from it..

This has been going on for a few month's now as a result im sleeping for a really long time I just got near 10 hours sleep and I feel like I never slept..this is just really annoying! were I sleep is comfortable to me..ive always been a night owl so its not my sleep schedule ive always been able to sleep like a stone regardless..so im kinda left here wondering why the sudden influx of dreams anyone have any ideas? it doesn't seam any of them have much personal meaning just random crap.. no nightmares thank god..

The [scientific] truth is we all dream every night all the time. Often multiple dreams. What we don't necessarily do is remember them. What's likely happened is you are now hitting deeper levels of sleep for longer periods of time hence the dream recall. In the lighter modes of sleep we don't tend to remember our dreams.

I've been having intense dreams almost every night for the past few months. I'm on a new medication, so I think that's what's causing my dreams. However, I don't feel tired when I wake up.

Since you are waking up exhausted, your sleep is probably being disrupted at some point during the night. Or at least, that's what the google search results are telling me. It could be due to caffeine, sleep apnea, sleep walking. You may want to go see a sleep specialist.

Interesting I didn't think dreaming happened out of rem and if I remember right rem is a light stage of sleep no?

I'm a chronic dreamer, I often remember 2-3 dreams per night and feel as if something is wrong if I don't remember my dreams. Maybe that's why I associate it with deep sleep or rather restfulness. Here's an article.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/dream-states/

Some foods if ingested before sleep make me dream more vividly than others. Can't say I've ever chronically been through periods of not remembering my dreams, or whittled it down to something specific that I can do to bring them on or make them go away either.

I do remember though when trying to train myself to lucid dream, I never recalled a single dream in that period of time. Irony....

I've heard that we can only remember a dream if we wake up during it. As Buddhist commented, we dream every night. The fact that you can recall your dreams means you are not sleeping well. Certain foods can cause insomnia, depending on the individual. Have you added any new foods/supplements to your diet recently? The foods I've discovered that disturb my sleep are flaxseeds, hemp seeds, chia seeds and licorice tea. So I can only have these in miniscule amounts with my breakfast(not dinner). If you have started taking vitamins, don't take them at night. Limit drinks and food with high water content before bed.

Medications will totally do it. As will nicotine. A few things I've observed:

- nicotine patch = intense dreams

- wellbutrin or the like = lots of dreams

- chantix = nightmares

Yeah, can you tell i've tried it all?
