I want to date a former coworker, what should I write in my message?

I had a little facebook interaction with a former coworker from a few years ago, just today. I have before entertained the idea of dating her since I am attracted to her but I didn't back then cause we were coworkers and she was taken then.

I want to give it a try now though, so my question is what should I write in my facebook message to her to ask her out?

My friends always tell me I say stupid awkward things to girls and **** it up, so I was hoping I could get some advice on this.

Come on guys, I need help on this.

What would you write in a facebook message if you wanted to ask out a former coworker.

My girlfriend who I've been dating for the past year and a half was a former coworker who I asked out via Facebook, so it can be done!

Now I will say that it's not the preferred or ideal way to ask a woman out, but when you're interested and Facebook is your only real way to connect, there's nothing inherently wrong with it.

When I asked my girl out she had left our mutual employer about four months before. I messaged her commenting on a picture she'd posted and simply inviting her to get together and catch up sometime. I was lucky, really lucky, that she accepted and we've been together ever since.

I will admit that my experience is out of the norm. I don't think there are too many women out there leaping for the chance to go out with one of the many blokes contacting them through social media. But it is possible and worth the risk. My advice is to just put out the invitation and let her respond. If she's interested, great. If not, let it go.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

The best thing to do is not mince around trying to get a pre-commitment that she is interested but simply to pull the Bandaid off and ask her out directly in as few words as possible, and without saying "I realllyyyy like you."

Pick something you know she likes.

Example: "I think we should go to the zoo this Saturday, my treat. Sound good?" [or movie or museum]

That's it. Don't elaborate. This way you have not embarrassed yourself spilling your guts. A date is just a date, not a marriage proposal. If she says no, you have no reason to have to avoid her. If she says yes, she should realize it is a date because "my treat." If she says she's busy, ask if there's a better time. If she doesn't deliver a better day, it's a no.

Good luck.

So I still haven't sent her a message, but tonight she randomly tagged me on something on facebook. Is this a good sign??

I find it odd how for years we didn't interact with one another at all in facebook then suddenly she has started commenting on my posts and tagging me on stuff, just cause I liked one post she made. Probably reading into it too much. But I figure I should message her anyway.

Ask her out. No woman likes a man who is afraid to make a move. Even if you make one and she says no, she'll respect you for being confident enough to ask. You're going to screw around until she finds someone else.

I sent her a message, but she didn't reply.

I m kinda disappointed, I thought she may be interested. At the very least I expected a reply, even if just to say no.

I didn't even really ask her out. I just messaged her saying, Its been a few years and asking her how she's been. I don't get how its so easy for some people to be rude and not reply to something like this.

Been there, done that. Its been 6 month, never heard from the guy i was interested. I would suggest wait for week and send another message, if you still don't get any response i would move on..

You really think I should message her again?

I had honestly considered this a shut case. The only reason she could have not responded and still have been interested in someway is if she saw the message and decided to reply later but forgot. But I think that's highly unlikely, she would have to be really distracted for that to happen.
