Is it a date or just imagination?

Maybe someone will be able to simplify this for me. I started my masters degree at another University a month ago. I met a girl in my first class and we talked for a bit. I asked here where she was from and when she replied i was like: "Oh yeah, i had a girlfriend a long time ago that also lived there" (yeah i know, smooth as hell :bunny: ) she responded that she never really had much luck with men and that her previous relationship were "funny in the bad meaning of the word" (whatever that is) and if we were to meet we would probably have a lot to talk about (What the hell that's supposed to mean?). Later on i needed something as i missed class due to some work stuff so i messaged her asking about some things and we somehow connected. We texted for a couple of days, we laugh for the entire classes, she would sometimes grab my arm to show me something etc. A couple days later she was a bit sad because of some things at work and i managed to cheer her up. During the conversation i said that as she already know that i love cooking (yeah i know not a really manly thing to do, can't help it..) i can cook something that she likes to cheer her up again and she said that she would love that. I also asked if she would like to go out sometime to talk about stuff and she'd like that as well. 2-3 weeks later (this week) i asked her that is still up and she said that yeah definitely and we agreed that i will pick her up from work next week and take her someplace i like (she does not really know the city as she works and lives around 15 km from it).

Now the most important question. IS THAT A DATE? My last 2 relationships were with girls that had someone on the side for the entire time (i realized that after the fact, both times) and i really lost a lot of self-esteem because of that (started wondering if maybe there is something wrong with me or something) and stop dating for almost 2 years (i was in a really dark place). As of right now i managed to get my **** together but i really don't want to get my hopes up if there is no reason for that. Anyone care to analyse that? What about that part about "if we were to meet we would probably have a lot to talk about" stuff?

That's it. Sorry if it's painful to read. I don't speak English on every day basis.

Hard to know, it could be. I think if you want a date to be clear, it is best to mention the word 'date' at some point. However, if she likes you and vice versa, there is nothing to stop this being a date.
