notreble79
So here's my story. I live in the messed up state of Illinois. I work in a building trade. Last year when the state failed to have a state budget, most of my work came to a standstill. Which forced me to start traveling. I went to northern Minnesota for six months. Not long after I left, my wife asked to be in an open relationship. Which I was cool with since we were so far apart. She also developed an alcohol problem as well. Well she wasn't secretive about her endevors, and by the time I got home, the whole town knew. So my whole family hates her, and I can't away their thoughts. Which made Christmas very awkward. Anyway, went back on the road, and things at home got worse, we decided to get a divorce. She is still seeing the same guy. And I'm happy for them. The problem now is, she won't move out. She keeps using her cats as an excuse (she has 4). Her bf said she can move in with him, minus the cats. We still get along, but I feel like I'm being used for my generosity. Anyone have a hard time getting your ex to leave?
Coolgirl19
call the police, i would if my ex won't leave it's an idea, but it's best or change your locks and everything.. i don't know about the cats maybe make a deal how about that you say i'll look after the cats if you stop coming over because if she's going over to feed them maybe offer for her, but she has to give you the money
mikeylo
You can't just call the police ! Duh OP, your wife is doing what all attorneys ask to do. Don't leave the house. Since you agreed for open marriage and were not living there even, it's a tough call for you. You can try an evil way -- by creating circumstances that she leaves but it can work against you if she is adamant. Or start the divorce proceedings and seek advice from attorneys.
aileD
Is it a house? Apartment ? Can you just move out and get your own place and leave her with the old place and rent?
oldshirt
but I feel like I'm being used for my generosity. Gee do ya think????? :-O How'bout growing a spine and giving her 30 days. If you don't want the cats then she has 30 days to figure it out. Not your circus, not your monkeys.
S2B
Change the locks. Her boyfriend can take them. Have you filed for divorce? In the court papers you can request she move out the day she is served. She won't do it until you give her no other options. Yes, she is using you - because you allow it. oldshirt
It's a house, I pay the tent, and my landlord ia my grandpa. So I'm not moving. If her name is not on the lease then you can be nice and give her a week or so to pack up the cats and go. If she is listed on the lease as a tenant, then you can take legal action. Most county courts will have a section that deals specifically with tenant/landlord/lease disputes.
