Matched with popular YouTuber on tinder... How do I act around him?

Now, this story is going to seem really far-fetched. But it's all honest!

I was on tinder last night, and came across a cute guy who also had similar interests as me and was really my type. I super liked him, and this morning I checked my tinder again and he had matched with me, and also sent me a message! He said 'hey there' and I replied saying 'hey! How are you?'. I was pretty interested in this guy so I had another look at his profile and seen that his Instagram was connected with the tinder profile. Instead of looking through the Instagram photos on the tinder app, I searched the username into Instagram so it would be easier for me. He has 1.4 million followers and is verified!!! Then, with that I clicked on the link to his YouTube channel and he has over 3 million subscribers...

I was already interested enough in this guy, he is really my type and we have a lot of similar interests. After finding this YouTube stuff out, I see that as a bonus. I haven't brought it up to him that I know, and I don't want to in case he thinks I only want to speak with him for that reason! How should I talk to him without him thinking I'm a 'gold digger'?

It's not a fake profile! The tinder account can only be paired with an Instagram by logging into the Instagram.

He's just a guy. Act normal.

Can one really make that much money from having a successful Youtube profile that they'd have to be wary of gold diggers? We'd be talking well into three figure income each year to be in that zone.

You'd be surprised. It's obviously not standard, but certain YouTubers easily clear a million bucks each year.

Just having a lot of subscribers to Instagram and YouTube means jack really. I used to work with an Instagram celebrity and the reality of his life was different than people imagined. It doesn't make them instantly rich, famous or any other thing. Clearly if he's on Tinder, he's regular guy still trying to get his share of hookups/dates/whatever. His life really isn't all that.

Treat him like a regular guy, hold him to standards as you would anyone else, and decide for yourself what you want to give him or not on his own merits as a person. Not because he has social media followers. ;)

While I won't speculate whether he falls into that category or not, that would only be a tiny % of YouTubers probably only the top 1%. It really depends on what his vids are about, and if he is properly capitalising on it.

Views matter more than subscribers, but yes, category and where most of your viewers are located influence the money you can make.

Actually ad views matter - and the type of ads - nothing else. As a content publisher you get to decide the type of ads from adsense that are used (there are numerous formats) and frequency of ads linked with your videos. You can publish without ads or with ads were you only make money if the viewer watches at least 15 seconds of the ad.

Video views doesn't always equal money - many people don't even have their content monetized so they don't make anything. in all likelyhood the guy wouldn't make much from YouTube.

He is just a guy. He has millions of followers but is using Tinder just like everyone else.

He isn't royalty. You dont have to call him Your Majesty or anything. There is no protocol involved in talking to a guy with a big following on YouTube.

You also matched last night and he has so far said Hey there to you.

You might be getting a bit carried away. Dont plan your wedding just yet.

Many YouTubers easily make six figure incomes. With that many subscribers and followers, I wouldn't be surprised if he was pulling a million a year. They usually have multiple income streams. Their money not only comes from YouTube but from Instagram, Facebook, sponsorship/placement deals and any other personal income or regular job they might have.

True about the income! Like anyone who is in the public eye, treat them as normal and make certain that everything is very balanced, especially since he probably has girls throwing themselves at him for the wrong reasons. Don't be scared to lose him or jump further in the relationship than you are already. Make him work for it like any other guy. I don't think you should cop to knowing who he is in social media because you wouldn't have if you hadn't snooped a bit--this is the same as i would say for any guy. Just let the relationship develop if it does. Best way to keep things normal Most of the guys that are popular on you tube or instagram like that are funny/cocky types so I would make sure to give it right back to him if that fits your personality. Don't be in awe of what his income, status is. Good luck

i'm sorry but I am not seeing a connection here....

Can you explain how you go from "how do I play this?" to "how do I play this so that he doesn't think I'm a gold digger?" just because he has a youtube channel? Is his fame riding on youtube tutorials on how to become a billionaire?

Why would he even make that jump? Why would you?
