gaslight
My husband and I were in the gym yesterday training together, I went off to do my own set when some guy out of nowhere started 'spotting' me during my squats and I mean he was pretty close to me, I stopped and asked him to go away. My husband noticed and came over words where said between them with the guy being a disrespectful jerk, he then took a swing at my husband who is a marine and my husband punched him back, this went on for a few seconds and I tried to grab my husbands back and pulled his arm away, not knowing it was me he elbowed me in the face and I now have a black eye. What's annoying me is that although he keeps apologising for what happened he's angry at me for the whole thing starting. Am I missing something here? Does he have a right to be angry with me? Arieswoman
OP, What do you mean by "spotting" ? It's difficult to respond when you are using specialist jargon. Please give more information - thanks

Please give more information - thanks Spotting in weight or resistance training, is when someone is supporting another person during a particular exercise. Something I didn't need during that set, he just took it upon himself and what made it worse was he put himself very close to me. I obviously re-racked the bar and politely asked him to go away
mikeylo
Gyms have different kinds of people going for different purposes. On tops , some go to few gyms every week , different days ,for different purposes. You didn't handle properly. Instead of asking the guy to go away , you should have called your husband. The guy would have come to know that you are married and backed off. End of story. In gyms , some women are hit on a lot and some guys don't want to miss a chance as gyms are the new hot spot to meet someone.
