Chris2016
I agreed to drive for a road trip meetup in several days. Now I'm hesitating, carpooling with strangers. I don't really know, or have met anyone in person. It'll be a large group. The organizer doesn't seem to care or interested about carpool safety when I asked. I don't care if I get kicked out, for backing out. What would you do? Interestingly, when I do an internet research on this, nothing really comes up. Or, maybe because the people who have had bad experiences are, well, you know, kaput?
PegNosePete
I've never heard of anyone having problems but personally I would never get in a car with someone I don't know, especially for a long distance. The problem might be limited to awkward conversation as you realise your carpoolers are a bunch of racists, or a terrible journey as they sing Rammstein at full volume all the way. Or as you mention worst case scenario kaput with no-one knowing where you were last seen or who the guy who gave you a lift is.
