Ok got a question for a friend of mine. She says she noticed on her husbands paycheck that there was 8 hours missing from it. She asked him about it and he said he saw that on there and he worked that day and didn't understand why it was saying he took 8 hours leave that day when he worked. He told her he talked to the person that does the paychecks and wanted them to correct it, because they owe him for a days pay because he worked that day.

The person that does the paychecks told him they would take care of it. HOWEVER, here it is 5 months later and its still not taken care of. To me thats to long for something like that. She has asked him several times if it had been corrected and hes tell his wife, that he keeps telling them too but have yet to do so. He even told her he went to the head supervisor and told him, he said to take it up with the person that does the paychecks. He told the supervisor he did but they have yet to do anything. Then he tells his wife that hes gonna file a complaint, because its not getting taken care of. That was a few weeks ago and he hasn't done it yet. Now to some people they may say oh big deal its just a days pay, but to others that day of pay if they worked would mean a little more money they should have gotten had it been the persons fault that does the paychecks. Basically its the principal of the thing. My question is do others think its odd that it would take 5 months to correct this "mistake?"

it is very odd however lookin at this from a perspective of the man (thinking like my XH would have in this situation) its not worth the hassle to mess around with...I mean that would require him to continue nagging and not to slam men but most don't see this as a huge issue..especially if he doesn't pay the bills or they don't have financial troubles. He probably just thinks his wife will eventually stop buggin him about it and then he won't have to deal with it...

Most certainly it is odd....I think he DID take the day off.

She to pull up a complaint form for him off the North Carolina Department of Labor website. I think it is NCDOL.org and have him fill it out in front of her and her mail it in for him, either he will do it if it's true or he will have to come clean because the NCDOL will file a formal complaint with his employer wanting to know why they are with holding pay, and his company could be fined.

5 months is to long to fix something they could have cut him a check for or corrected on the next pay check.

I agree, it shoudn't take that long to correct something like that. All he has to do is show whoever does the paychecks the time, and they can correct right then, and add his money they owe to him on his next paycheck. Something don't sound right to me.

I guess I always seem to think the worst since I have been burned so much. I would assume he DID take the day off and is not filing the complaint becasue he knows that he took it off. I would assume he is hiding something. Any guy who got ripped off on a pay, would be getting that money ASAP!

One thing I wanted to clairfy which is my fault. My first post I said that she saw his paycheck and asked him about it, sorry on that, she said, HE came to her when he got his paycheck and made it a point to tell her he saw where they had him down for 8 hours of leave that he worked. However reguardless of who came to who about it, its still not been taken care of and yes I find it odd myself. Its too long for something pretty simple to be corrected.

Did you hesitate whether to post this thread in the Infidelity or Business forum? :D

I think you did. He might have taken the day off, but not necessarily with another woman. I think he definitely won't get the money for the day. She can sneak around and talk to the people from his work, e.g. the one who supposedly said the thing will be taken care of. But that would be bad.

I suggest that she looks for other proofs, like his cell phone, phone books, agendas, personal things, anything...

But maybe it's better that she never finds out and just let it go. If that's the only "proof" she has then it's not worth being upset over something that might not be infidelity. I've suspected things many times and it turned out that I was wrong. Since then I decided to never accuse anyone of anything unless I am sure they did it.

After all, maybe they really didn't sign him on that day, but think it's his fault that he didn't remind them on time and now don't want to correct their/his mistake. Maybe he got into a fight with someone and left work. I mean, anything that has to do with work or friends or something he is ashamed of. Why do women always suspect there is another woman?

Hm... maybe because it usually is?

Hi record, as far as where to post this for my friend, I was already in marriage when I was browsing and just decided to post here being that its about her husband. Second of all she has not mentioned at all to me she thinks theres someone else. She was just saying how she thinks it was odd that after all this time the paycheck thing still wasn't corrected. Even if he did take the day off without her knowledge, she hasn't said anything at all about where his possible where abouts might hve been. So bascially this post was about if others thought it was odd that this thing had yet to be corrected, it wasn't about whether he may or may not be cheating.

now that you say that he showed the wife the paycheck, there is no way he was off and cheating. That would just be dumb. I guess it is just a mistake? Keep us posted!

beth yeah either that or he figured he would just show her to throw her off incase she had been checking the paychecks which she wasn't. I talked with her earlier she said she talked with her husband and she didn't bring up the situation but he did. He told her he told the person that does the paychecks that it better be corrected by next paycheck which is next week or they were gonna have a pow-wow in the big dogs office. I think thats where it should have went anyway after all this time. So maybe it was their mistake. I'll let you know if it gets taken care of.

Ok my friend said that her husband got his paycheck the other day. This is the one she said her husband said the person that does the paychecks would be correct on this time. It was not corrected! She asked him if he was going to take them to the office and file a greivence like he said. He told her yes, he can't understand why this wasn't corrected after they told him last week it would be. She said he was going out the door to work this morning and said to him, "good luck." He asked "why?" He then said," oh yeah cuz i need to take them to the office." She talked with him earlier and she didn't mention how his meeting went. He didn't even mention it either. I don't think he took them to the office and I don't think hes going too. I told her this and she says she thinks so too. Its just crazy.

Hey lilmoma, wow I about forgot about this post. As a matter of fact I talked with her earlier today and nope it still hasn't been fixed. This happened at the end of April beginning of May somewhere along there, and here it is September. She said he has told her over and over again he was going to file a grievence, but has yet to do it. Also he gives her excuses for why he hasn't. So yeah I think he wasn't there that day. I don't think it will be fixed, theres nothing to fix, it wasn't their mistake, he just wasn't at work period.

I guess anything is possible. However she said it was on his paycheck as sick leave personal time leave without pay. He told her the he didn't take any time off and if he did it would have been with pay not without. I think its possible that the problem may lie in the fact that he took the time off and the mix up is its supossed to be WITH pay and they have it as WITHOUT pay. Either way he said he didn't take any time off, and if they corrected it and changed it to with pay, it would still be showing 8 hours of time being off. I think so much time has passed though that shes let it go. Thanks again.
