What if you've given up?

Recommended Posts

I think I've given up. I'm going to be 37 in a few weeks and I haven't gone anywhere regarding relationships. I'm in pretty much the same spot as when I joined this website. I don't feel like trying anymore. I don't feel like initiating on online dating websites, or texting or calling anyone. I don't feel like organizing and meeting for pointless first dates. Relationships are things that happen to other people. I can't even get a fling. There are things that pretty much happen to everyone when they are in their teens and early twenties that I still haven't experienced. This is not fun, it's excruciating and depressing.

You know what dude, NOW you will find someone.

I've heard a few people and it's true. When you stop looking , then you find your match.

While a relationship is important but being in a wrong one is worse than being in non.

So go about your day, enjoy your singleness. Better than tied up with the wrong one.

It seems to be true that the best relationships start when you're content with your own company, but two things may prevent him from reaping the benefits:

1) He hasn't gotten to past square one yet, and most people who report this "I had given up" phenomenon never had trouble getting dates, the trouble was finding the relationship they wanted.

2) He can't turn into a hermit. He still has to interact with the public somehow, such that he will meet a variety of men and women in social settings.

Nobody will magically appear at his door in a wedding dress.
