how is this possible when i was in 8th grade i was 4'8",in 9th grade i was 5'

in 10th grade 5'3" and in 11th grade now i am 5'4",i grew taller than some boys,how is this possible for a girl,my mother 4'10" and father 5'3"

It is quite common for children to grow up taller than their parents.

 

In grade 11 you are probably close to being done growing, and you are still fairly short. It doesn't seem all that shocking really.

Perhaps you have better nutrition than your parents or have had overall better health. You're still quite close to your parents' height - well within the normal range of variation - so I see nothing remarkable here. Height results from both nature (genetics), and nurture and they both have variability.

 

Most girls (IME) reach adult height around age 12. For you it looks like it's coming later. Perhaps you reached puberty later than what I would consider typical (age 11-12).

 

Now if you were 6 feet or more, that would be quite unusual.

I'm a few inches taller than my mom. She's a few inches taller than her mom. Etc. I didn't think that was too uncommon.
