Who would have thought

I would be worried that she would 'retort' when asked to do a polygraph. Just shows (a) She is disdainful of the OP and (b) She is not remorseful in the least. With that said I think for OP to think that his marriage still has some mileage left in it for which he does not want to do anything which will make it fall apart further is just a fond hope. His marriage as he knew it is dead as a dodo. It cannot be ressurected because, really speaking, his wife is not on board and by the looks of it is not going to be anytime soon. His only hope is to dissolve the existing marriage and start afresh. He may co opt his wife again if he so wishes but he has to first bury the remains of the existing one. Once he has done that then after spending time as a singleton and observing his wife's behaviour from a distance, he can decide on rekindling a fresh romance with her on a clean slate if he chooses. Alternatively, his life as a singleton may give him insights into his ex wife's shortcomings and he may decide that she is just too damaged for him to romance her again.

This is just my point of view as observed from where I am positioned. I may be wrong and I hope for OP's sake I am. Warm wishes.

Its fresh on your mind and it will take time to move past and to rebuild trust. If she is really wanting to work on your marriage that's great. There isn't an easy way around it, but if you guys can work through it your marriage will be that much stronger. I will be praying for you and your family, love on those kids and find comfort in being there for them. I am sorry you are going through this but keep your head up, it can with time get better.
