Springsummer
So I left an unopened beer on my cup holder at my car over night. Next morning it broke at one side with beer slush around the whole bottle. I thought it was interesting coz it shows what a cold place we are living in, so I posted the pics on fb. Now I am thinking, will that suggest that I am an alcoholic woman? coz I am not:( will I make a bad impression?
RecentChange
Well.... My husband works in the beer industry, so I, and many I know post lots of pictures of beer, without being assumed me are alcoholics But - why was a beer in the cup holder of your car? Here it's illegal to have even unopened containers within reach of the driver. Beer has to be carried in the trunk, etc. So no, I wouldn't think you were an alcoholic by posting that, but I might ask what a beer was doing there in the first place.
ZayKayWill
Uh I mean some companies may look at it as weird and may judge you for it. If you're just worried about what your friends will think, though, I say don't worry about it.

Having coffee in the holder beside the driver is normal. But I can see the logic in your rules. Springsummer, I can't imagine anyone thinking you had alcohol problems based on your photo - unless all your friends are super conservative, tee-totallers. I see photos where alcohol is part of the photo frequently. I don't give it a second thought. If, as ZayKayWill suggests, a potential employer might think it's weird....just make sure your profile is private. Something which I think is wise to do regardless of employment status.
Shanex
Beer is culture. Beer are for the vast majority of them under 12%ABV. It's not like you were chugging vodka in the car. I understand that people will make fast judgements and criticize people posting booze on social medias... there are other outlets for that but legal or not it's not the right place to be enjoying your craft of choice for sure. With that said, time to Crack open a cold one. Edited March 7, 2017 by Shanex
basil67
Another thought....your friends already know what type of person you are. One FB post will not change their opinion of you.

Shanex
It screams "I drive drunk." Aye, and nothing kills the buzz like getting pulled over for buzzed driving. Drink at home, or get a designated driver...
d0nnivain
An occasional pic of alcohol is fine. If it's in every picture, that is more problematic. I'm more concerned about beer in the cup holder of the car.

So you're worried about what a guy you'll like will think? I say just be yourself. If it's a big deal he'll bring it up with you. Speaking of which, whatever happened to that guy who wanted to go on Xmas vacation without you?

I think you mistaken me as someone else? of course he won't bring it up, he hardly know me, that's the problem. oh, forget about it, I don't really care about that person anymore, so what does it matter what he thinks? I appreciate everyone's opinion, no matter what it is.
ZayKayWill
Huh maybe I am mistaken you for someone else. Well. That was a fast change of heart. Lol..
GunslingerRoland
I don't know where you live that you are legally allowed to drink a beer while driving, but there are good reasons why it's illegal in most of the world. I have lots of pictures on Facebook with a drink in my hand, but it's a normal part of the culture here.
