Boobies. Inquiring minds want to know. Sag factor?

OK, I've gotten various opinions from various women. Some say you need to wear a bra because your boobs will sag. I thought that your muscles behind your boobs had to be developed well to keep your boobs from sagging. I have a small B/full A cup and my boobs are very perky and always have been. But my friend R said I should start wearing bras or my boobs will sag. She has D cup titties, though, so they kind of sag anyways. In the 2 years I've known her they have visibly changed shape as well, but I attribute this to her being a stripper - I mean she jiggles her boobs around 4-8 hours shifts 2-3 times a week, how could they NOT start to sag?

My BF has also said he thinks I should wear bras more. Granted he likes my perky boobs, will they sag if I don't? I hate wearing bras, honestly. I only wear them when I have to, like at family functions or to work. At home or chilling out with friends the ladies fly free. They're just boobs. Everyone has seen boobs. It's not like I'm walking around without panties on and a big honking camel toe. Besides they are so small and pert, anyways.

My mom is like 53/54 and has had 4 kids, was pregnant 6 times, breastfed 3 kids. Her boobs are still quite perky. Is it genetic?

My boobs are kind of big and I wear those ugly bras that cover your whole boob because I feel like it gives me a lot of support and keeps them in their place therefore they will not sag. I think the bigger the boobs are the more likely they are to sag.

I've heard that they'll sag if you wear a bra while sleeping. That's a BIG NO NO!

But if i don't, mine fall to the opposite side of me and they weigh me down (I have a 36D-DD) Their like sand bags. My mom doesn't have huge boobs like me. so I have no idea where I got it, if it even it genetic. I'm 21 and thier already sagging....I hate it. Can't wait to get my breast lift!.

it is all genetic.

i am sure there are ways to prevent inevitable sagging......it has to do with the elasticity of your skin too.

hmm, interesting question. that might be something to ask people who work at a gym or lingere store or of course a doctor. they might have more info.

i know that a coworker of mine who is 45 and a 36DD was told by her trainer to do chest presses to help keep her boobs from sagging.

personally i'm large too and have to wear the big old ugly supportive bras. have you tried the bras with no underwire? i can't comment on them but maybe they'd be more comfortable and you can have a happy medium supportwise.

It must be B_O, cause back in, mmmmm, '97 I think it was I was banging this 35 yr old chick. At that time I was 32. This chick had two kids under ten and a real tight body but her "fun bags" sagged down to her navel. Like her nipples were pointing straight down to her feet

Then I have slept with 45 to 49 yr olds with multiple kids who still have real nice, fairly firm "fun bags"

I've worn the bras without underwire. I still feel all wrapped up and closed in. I feel like I can't take a deep breath. Like a tiny midget has his arms wrapped around my chest and is trying to strangle me. My friend R is always jealous of my ability to go braless.

Hopefully I've inherited my mom's boobs. My oldest sister very obviously didn't, has small D, big C cups but is my height (5') and her boobs are like sag-u-licious. And she didn't even breast feed but one of her children.

But...there is a HUGE difference between saggy boobs, and non-perky nipples.

you and me both.

BlindOtter, i say if you can go braless, go for it. i wish i could. if they're that small, they couldn't sag too much anyway.

otter, I wouldn't worry about losing your perky "ladies" unless you gain weight/increase your breast size. From the sound of it, because you're smaller AND blessed with good genes, you don't have much to worry about when it comes to gravity. However, to be on the safe side, when you exercise or do some activity that will pound your breasts (i.e., make them move a whole lot), you might consider wearing a sports bra. Those prolly have got to be the most comfortable bra there is to wear since there are no straps cutting into your shoulder blades. My niece swears by the inexpensive cotton/tshirt fabric ones they carry at walmart because for the price, she gets good mileage!

again, don't worry about your babies unless your breast size increases and you NEED the support.

what is sooo great about sports bras?

i have never understood, for me a 34D, which is not even huge, there is just no real support.

if anything, i will wear a sports bra over an underwire.

i hate not wearing a bra, and only do not when i go to bed.

I don't wear bra's very often, unless I have to. I should though, as they do move around and say "hey" once in a while...

somewhat on the same topic.....there seem to be a lot of other well endowed women commenting on this post. i've never been able to find a sports bra that i can go running in, if i do decide to run i'll wear two sports bras. mostly i stick to strenth classes and the elyptical machines at the gym because of this.

does anyone know of any good sports bras for women with larger chests?

That's because most sports bras are "compression" type bras, which actually do more harm than good to larger busts. You really need to wear a bra that seperates and doesn't smoosh the boobs. The best brand out there is the "Shock Absorber" line of sports bras, which are available online at Figleaves, and I've even seen them at some high-end department stores too.

should have posted this disclaimer: my niece is a good A/B cup, and prefers the sports style bras to the regular over the shoulder boulder holder!

I like the sports bras, too, but there's never enough material to support the twins. That said, Lerner's carries a really good line of bras for well endowed women, called "Cacique," and I found a couple that are wireless, but which give the best support I've ever had in a bra.

if you're looking for regular bras, Wacol makes the absolute best. they're expensive and not the prettiest but they're so supportive and high quality so they last a long time. i wear them to work just about every day....i save the prettier less supportive stuff for after work and weekends.

Wacoal is great, but they only go up to DDD cups.

Nothing to be sorry for, silly!

Regardless of where you fall on the busty scale, I think Nordstrom and Macy's seem to have the best selection of bras. They even have those bras with clear straps, which are a must for summertime tops, and are almost impossible to find in anything larger than a C cup.

i've pretty much given into the fact that my straps are going to show.

i actually found clear straps sold separately that can attach to any bra with detachable straps. i can use them with my strapless bras. they're pretty great. I think i found them in bloomingdales.
