Said she wants to go out, no call yet. Why?

Recommended Posts

Imet this beautiful German intern on the street. We hit it off and Igave her my number and email (home and work). She said she would call me when she had time and we would go out for lunch or something.

A week goes by and she hadn't called,so I began to wonder if she would.A day later, I'm out for a walk on my lunch hour and we bump into eachother. She smiles, says 'Hi'and says she has my number, still wants to go out and will call me.

I guess I'm feeling good that she kept my number and said she still wanted to out after not contacting me for a week.

But, I'm still wondering why she hasn't yet. It hasn't been 2 weeks since she first said she'd call and Ihave't heard from her.

Ladies out there, help me with this one...Is she playing games? Really busy?Shy?

What's the normal waiting time to expect a call?

The vague non-committal 'yes' like this is the most positive type of 'no' that you can get.

"Lets go out sometime" does not mean "I want to go out with you". It basically just means I don't dislike you enough to come right out and turn you down flat.

Either you can just cut your losses, or next time you see her ask for her number to see if you get any different response when you ask her for a specific time and place meeting.

Umm well there are two scenarios... one being that she was just trying to be nice and felt bad turning you down (I mean understandable since she doesn't really know you and you only met her on a street) or the other scenario is just that she doesn't call guys and likes for them to call her. Personally I am the second one and would rather a guy call me. So you actually should have gotten her number and stuff when she got yours. I mean next time you see her you could ask but then it could lead up to you looking like your a stalker. Or you could just leave it alone and if she calls she calls. Girls sometimes like guys who they have to chase so don't be so available where she has to make excuses why she hasn't called. Play it casual.

P.S. I think that the normal waiting time is no more than 3 days

Hope I helped

Amanda

okay, I'm going overkill on this lately, but just maybe she read the book "He's Just Not That Into You".

The book says IF HE'S INTO YOU HE WILL CALL.

She has your number...greaaatttt. Were you the slightest bit interested enough to get HER phone number? Are you interested enough to call HER?

My suspicion is that if he cared enough to post about it here, he didn't get her number because he wasn't confident enough to do so, or she turned him down when he asked. It wasn't a matter of him not being into her, or even giving her that impression.

To the OP: have you ever not followed up when you liked a girl who gave you her number, especially after seeing her twice? There's your answer.

I think if you happen to see her again, you should play it cool and just chit-chat with her a bit. Unless she is really really shy, she will know that you want to go out with her and doesn't need a second or third invitation to call you. If she hasn't called you yet, it means she doesn't want to go out with you. If you ask her about it every time you see her, she'll start avoiding you. It doesn't mean that she will call you when you stop asking her about it, but at least you won't come across as desperate and clingy. Maybe she will change her mind after chatting with you a couple of times, but that will only happen if you don't blame her for not calling.

Wordguy,

There are always exceptions, but the general rule is that the guy is expected to take the initiative. You have to be the one to ask for her digits, not the other way around.

And what are you doing meeting people on the street all the time? Go out and meet them at a wine-tasting club or some other social event. You can actually get to know them better. What you're doing is akin to cold calling.
