Outcast
You can attach less importance to the remarks in there, but you cannot conveniently forget them Oh but people in these debates do that all the time! If they were in debating societies, they'd be ripped to shreds, of course It's kind of amusing to watch in the way it's amusing to watch puppies wrestling each other in play. clandestinidad
I can see what everyone's saying here....but I get hung up on the comments that marriage was or wasnt created by the Bible. The Bible didnt CREATE ANYTHING.....Its merely a collection of writings written over many centuries...a way of life, a historical logue. If youre a christian, then you believe that marriage was created when creation began....with Adam & Eve being the first marriage. This is written as part of the Old Testiment, but it certainly wasnt written WHEN it happened...it was written much later, by Moses around 1450-1410BC after God worked through him. Christians believe the first marriage was at the beginning of time, so all of these writings from Sumeria, Egypt, other Ancient times were long after the first marriage. Marriage was not created by the Bible. The Bible simply recorded it. Now, if you want to argue whether or not GOD created marriage (and not that the book called the Bible created it) then we have an argument about religious beliefs which will get us nowhere. My point is, Christians believe that God created marriage at the beginning of time. The Bible, and other ancient writings from other civilizations, simply tells us about it.
