Just wanted to post for all the people dealing with the agonizing pain of a break up. Read some of my past posts if you want some background. Long story short I went through one of the worst type of break ups ever - locked in a lease with an ex for months after a two year relationship to a girl who I am pretty sure I wanted to marry....who dumped me coldly out of the blue.

I was very upset about it, and it was agonizing living with her for several months doing my best to avoid contact with her, obsessing that she was banging some jerk if she wasn't home, getting caught in arguments with her, etc. She was totally cold to me, saying the break up didn't hurt her, etc.

I have to say today, after only about 4 months, I am totally over it and super happy it happened - I never thought I would feel this way. The time, especially the early time, was difficult to the point my job was suffering. All I could do at first was obsess over how I could get her back, which I know now not only would have been a mistake, but would have been impossible as well.

I will also admit that the only things that really helped me were long rants on the phone to my family, who are extremely supportive people, and, and I know you aren't supposed to do this, a fling with another girl. I was lucky in that situation, because we basically mutually broke it off after realizing we were both rebounding...but, hey, in the middle of heartbreak a person can use a little luck.

Anyway, keep your heads up people. It seriously never seems like it will end...it will. I wouldn't take my ex back in a million years. I want to call her and thank her for this.

- Good luck folks
