hayhay2593
So recently I got the apps HeyVina and Bumble BFF to try to meet some other females to hangout with since I moved (to Los Angeles) and my best friends are back in my home state. Anyway, I've gone on coffee dates with different girls, we end up talking a lot but then they never try to hangout again. It's making me feel hopeless about finding friends. Is this my fault or was something just not right? It just makes me curious and hurts my self esteem a little. What are some reasons you wouldn't hangout with someone again? (I have a boyfriend so I strictly mean just trying to meet new girls to be friends with.)
PegNosePete
Why not try group activities, rather than one-on-one, there's more likely to be someone you get along with? Meetup dot com is pretty good for that kind of thing. I would go with interest groups rather than generic "meet" groups, so you already have something in common to talk about. Starting conversations is really easy if you're in a hiking group or a bridge playing group or a cross-stitching group, you just say hi I am X, have you been in this group long, how long have you been XXXing, etc.
d0nnivain
Get involved in something that interests you to make friends. It could be a hobby or volunteer opportunity. As an adult I have made friends through work & through alumni groups because you already have something in common.
Erik30
Group activities are probably better. Just hanging out with one person who is still a complete stranger might feel too forced for a friendship. Thats almost like a date

Quick way to make friends, join a softball or volleyball team or bowling league... or whatever sport you like. Leagues like that always want new people to fill out a team and when you have a team or league with a bunch of people you'll probably make 2-3 really good friends pretty quickly.
Author hayhay2593
Thanks guys! I'm not really into sports very much but I'll have to try some and figure out what I like or try some other kind of hobby
