Emilia
College is likely to be the last time in your life when you have a lot of your peers around you. It's good to make an effort to learn what draws people in, what they appreciate and what they don't. Once you are out in the real world, start working, make your own way without being surrounded by potential friends, it's much harder to learn to deal with other people's expectations. College is very important to learn good social skills as well as academic subjects. Once you know the rules (what is more acceptable to wear, for example), you can choose to ignore them. However, you have to know what rules you are ignoring.
Author bradt93
I don't care about being liked, all I care about is making good grades. I'm also a commuter so I don't live on campus and if someone does say something about the way I dress, they will get punched in the face. This is not high school and a popularity contest. Author bradt93
Levis (the jeans which most people wear and are sold at Macys) and Uniqlo are at the $50 price point, and have plenty of respectable options. Again, the goal is not to be stylish - just not look like a slob. $30-$40 is the most I'm willing to spend.
RecentChange
I would notice and find it very strange if someone wore the same thing every day. Especially if it was the same sweat pants. And I am guessing that these are not "fashion" sweat pants that are cut with a more flattering narrow leg. If one is trying to attract women, wearing the exact same thing, and wearing sweatpants every day is not the way to do it.

GunslingerRoland
A little bit of double standard, but just because women can seemingly get away with yoga pants about everywhere these days, sweat pants really aren't that hip for guys to wear in all situations. Replace them with a couple of pairs of jeans. No one will really notice if you are wearing the same couple of pairs of jeans over and over. As for shirts, I'd pick up a couple more and add them into the rotations. I understand you have OCD and are on the spectrum, but sometimes you have to force yourself out of comfort zone a bit. And yes college is for learning not for dating, BUT college is a better opportunity to meet women than your post college life. Really try to see if you can meet people during this time. Even if not for dating, just for socializing and getting out.

JCPenney also has sales every weekend and they carry a ton of Levi's in various cuts; sales usually bring most cuts of Levi's down to the OP's price range, though I suspect he will still balk at any price. I don't think price is truly the issue here.

Ha, yeah I was going to mention that sweats are kind of back "in" right now, as more brands are making less sloppy cuts of sweatpants. I imagine OP is talking about some Fruit of the Loom-caliber clown-pant-silhouette sweats, though. As far as repeated wearings, this is really where a pair or two of jeans comes in handy. They are less conspicuous when worn multiple times a week compared to something like sweatpants.
Els
Uh, I don't normally have a problem with anyone dressing however they like, but this would put me off. My first assumption would be that you DIDN'T wash them, and just put them back on...
