I think of her as though she were mine, she calls me dad, and we are still very close although she is an adult now and left home years ago. Most people assume she is my daughter and indeed she actually bears a considerable physical resemblance to me. Her biological father had little interest in her which may be why she put me in that role when she was growing up. Anyway for whatever reason she is as much my daughter as if it were me that had provided the seed. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
dichotomy Posted May 3, 2017 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Tough - but I understood it would be. We had a difficult ex on my wife's side - lots of drama including legal drama. I had no kids of my own at first, later we added some of our "own" but I think of my step kids as my own kids.However it did change some dynamics for the worse a little once our own kids entered the picture, but not major. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
