My mom shouldn't have told me this but she did. My sister seen me at Walmart w/ school clothes for my ds. My sister told her "J can go buy clothes but she can't afford to pay her and C(my dd) way into the pool to take my kids swimming!" For one thing, I charged the damn clothes! My ds is going into middle school and the building does not have AC. When it gets too hot they close school early. Ds has no decent sleeveless shirts to wear to school so I bought some on clearance today.

She has no business being pissed about this. MY kids come b4 hers and if they need clothes I am going to get them. If I don't have money to blow on going swimming I am not going to do it. My kids clothes are more important than taking her kids to the damn swimming pool! She is paying for her girls to go but not our way even though my drunken BIL offered to pay our way in b/c I was kind enough to take a whole day out of my time to take his kids swimming. Not to mention the gas money it's going to cost to go to town and back. I am on unemployment for 6 weeks as I work at a preschool that closes for the summer. Just ticks me off!

what's a ds?

and also, your sister needs to mind her own business.

school clothes are more important than paying to get into a pool.

jeez. does your sister have a life of her own?

WOW! Somebody's WAY too interested in your business. Next time you go to the toilet, call her on the cordless and let her know that you're about to wipe, and ask if she'd like you to send a picture.

Why on earth should you justify your choices to her in any way shape or form?

Maybe in a few days, when tempers cool, you could tell her that you love her & are glad she's your sis - but you raise your kids your way, and she raises hers her way & that if you need her advice - you'll ask.

How rude. She has no right to be mad! Why do you have to pay for HER kids to go swimming? It's your money if you want to spend it on your kids there is nothing wrong with that. That's so silly of her. It's like me telling my mom, "you can't buy me a car, but you can buy yourself some dinner"? Plus it's not like your splurging! It's not like she saw you in flippin Armani Exchange with two bagfuls. Eck. How rude.

tell her to kiss your behind – meeting your child's needs comes first, and right now those needs translate to getting him ready for school. If she was such a damned good mommy, she (A) would take her kids herself or (B) pay the way for another adult to take them for her, period. She really needs to get off her high horse on this issue, and you're just the person to help her down by telling her so.

ds is dear son. And thanks for the laugh! I needed it.

I don't really want to tell her our mom told me this b/c she would be pissed at my mom for saying anything.

The reason why she wont get off her butt and take them to the pool is b/c her and my bil are going to the lake for the weekend. She asked me to take her kids to the pool b/c they haven't been yet. I flat out asked her why she has never taken them. She told me she doesn't go to town unless she goes to the store. She lives in the country about 5 miles from the pool. I live about 3 or 4 miles from town but I have taken my kids several times to the pool. She says that she doesn't take them b/c they have a pool (like ours) and there is no reason to take them. I asked her why I couldn't bring them out to my place to swim then and she told me b/c they really want to go to the new pool. I just look at this way; when they get older they are going to remember their Aunt J took them to the pool for the first, and probably last, time and not their parents.
