Why a friend might ignore me

Recommended Posts

How could you explain such behavior?

My friend and I had a conflict. I made her upset and she hurt me then.

Now we have started talking a little again. She initiates small talking in front of other people (mutual friends). I respond to her questions and remarks. But one minute she talks to me and next minute she ignores me and even avoids looking at me.

How to explain such behavior? Why is she talking and then acting as if I am not there? I act friendly towards her.

I wouldn't even call her a friend. If you and your friend got into an argument and you both hurt each other, you both have to move forward and work it out. If you see you're putting more of the effort to make the friendship work than it's obvious your friendship doesn't mean shyt to her. Why would you want to be friends with someone who can't even as a FRIEND talk to you and get past this? I don't know how serious the fight was but nothing should come between a friendship unless of course you betrayed each other as far as trust goes.

Friends, who knows the real definition of that word?! I personally till this day, wonder what that word means.

The conflict wasn't so horrible and no betrayal was involved. But I wonder what makes a person act the way she does now - one minute talking, next minute not even looking at you in a group of people. What feelings could cause a person to act this way? Anger? Shame? Embarrasment about how you handled the conflict? Or just pretending to be polite in a group of people? When is it difficult to face another person's look?
