I have a huge problem. I talk in my sleep and say really bizarre things. I will tell my boyfriend/fiance I don't love him, I hate him, to leave and all kinda of mean things. He says he sometimes tries to put his arm around me and I jerk him off of me and tell him to leave me alone. It makes him very upset and hurts his feelings. I don't even remember any of this ever. He thinks that is the way I feel but it can't be farther from the truth. He gets really, really uspet and hurt and angry when this happens, and won't tell me til weeks later what happened and I will be clueless that it even happened. He keeps saying I really mean it and who else would I be talking to but him. I don't know what to do. He doesn't understand that I have no memory of it and that I am not actually talking to him. Please help.

Gosh...I'm glad I am not in a committed relationship at this point in time, I talk in my sleep, and so loud sometimes I wake myself up.

Just the other night while sleeping I woke up because I literally shouted

out : f*** OFF!!!

Thank goodness, I don't have to explain it to a startled SO. :o

Ha! My ex used to do this. He said a bunch of mean stuff and when I asked him what he was talking about he rolled over and hit me in the face! Thank goodness it wasn't hard. I found the whole thing hilarious actually because I have been known to say bizzare things in my sleep on occasion as well. Not much you can do other than see a sleep specialist or explain to your bf that you don't mean anything you say after the lights go out.

I also have vivid dreams and talk in my sleep. Most of the time, I don't remember them but I 'feel' them, if that makes any sense.

When I have a vivid dream about my husband cheating, or him doing something that pissed me off, he can always tell - even without me saying anything. He catches me glaring at him or being grumpy first thing in the morning. At first he wouldn't understand and we would get into a fight. I would then bring up what happened in my dream as if it was reality. Now, he just recognizes that it takes me a while to snap out of my dreams. And he says 'honey, it's just a dream'.

I guess, your guy just needs to recognize that you can't control your dreams. That you don't mean anything by them. Tell him that you love him and reassure him of your feelings. Hopefully in time, he'll get to the same place in understanding as my husband is now.

i am an active dreammer as well. i have wailed on my sisters arm, thinking it was a snake, i laugh, cry, heck i even sing songs.

my best bet would be you are not sleeping deeply enough.

experiment with trying not to eat or drink things with caffine or lots of sugar before bed..... try drinking milk, or have "night-cap".

Something similar used to happen to me. My ex would try waking me up by playing arround and from what she said I used to cuss her out  not on purpose or anything like that I would not remember a thing even when I woke up to a mad wife . She normally would tell me of the things I had said and it was'nt nice but I could'nt help it I WAS SLEEP. Strangely enough this is the only woman I've been with this has happened to. Maby it was my subconchious telling me that it was not going to work out. CRAZY I know but it has not happened again in about 4yrs.

no one EVER wants to wake my sister up for that reason....she will yell/ curse at you then not even remember it.
