Els
This just sounds strange. He's a good 8cm taller than you. How is that short?? Anyway, you should obviously do what you want to do. No point stringing him along if you're not actually attracted to him.
itsanything
My ex was 5" taller than me. As a guy I prefer to be taller but it didn't matter.
Imajerk17
This thread is 11 pages long! Why does it seem that the really long threads on here are about the short men OP, if you were that attracted to him, you'd be...*ahem* over his short height. Either by now or very soon. Maybe you and he just aren't a match. That's the lowdown of your situation....
Author toomanyquestions123
This just sounds strange. He's a good 8cm taller than you. How is that short?? Anyway, you should obviously do what you want to do. No point stringing him along if you're not actually attracted to him. Nope he is 4 cms taller than me. Anyway its been 1 month since we have been dating now & I already was blunt with him about this issue, told him i like you and stuff but the height problem is a little bit concerning me when i wear heals. Suggested he buys elevator shoes & shoe lifts from amazon. He received them yesterday night. I am at a point of life where physical appearances dont matter to me like before. If this guy came to my life 4 years ago when i was too young i would have definitely cancelled on him. But i am more of sapiosexual now & what i care about most is how decent the guy is. Well my ex-fiance was a tall guy but he turned out to be a douche-bag in every way lol so height does not matter haha

BTW he said his preference in girls is taller girls than him !! & specifically asked me to wear heals as it turns him on for me to be taller than him. WEIRD GUYS ARE WEIRDDDD
Author toomanyquestions123
Yeah about that.... It did not work. A preference is a preference. Attraction if is not perceived at least after 5 dates then it will never be built.
tcd421
Speaking of height, i have something good working with a woman i just met. She is 6'2" She was tired of dating shorter guys, feeling like she was dating a kid. Enter me into her life. I am 6'6" and she may finally scratch that itch.
Cobra_X
Yeah about that.... It did not work. A preference is a preference. Attraction if is not perceived at least after 5 dates then it will never be built. So you dumped the short guy for being short? When I was young I dated this girl that was exactly my height. It irritated me when she wore heals. Why she is already tall? What's the point? I was thinking about bringing this up to her and asking her to stop, but I went to my grandfather for advice first. He listened and then said... "women are all the same height when you lay them down". I got the point and shut my mouth. I've never had a height hangup since.

No i broke up because he is TOO short. 5,3 ft is TOO short. And because we didnt mentally click which is the most important thing for me.

I am 5'2'' & dating guys almost my height is out of my list now.

5x5
Yeah about that.... It did not work. A preference is a preference. Attraction if is not perceived at least after 5 dates then it will never be built. Good for you, if you feel no sexual attraction for someone I don't see any point in dating them. Personally I wouldn't go past the first date without that sexual desire, and balk at the idea of five dates in the hope some attraction might develop.

I have been unsure about attraction for the first 2 dates once but by the third date the attraction was certainly there and the sexual attraction and compatibility was very high throughout the relationship. So I say give it a chance but don't let it drag out if it isn't happening.

Cookiesandough
It's kind of rude and odd if she said she felt like she was dating a kid. Edited October 12, 2017 by Cookiesandough
Cobra_X
It's kind of rude and odd if she said she felt like she was dating a kid. Would you date a guy standing at 5 foot 5? My best friend is a fighter pilot in the USAF and is that height. He is funny and handsome, rich and intelligent... ect. When we used to go out together women would ignore him and flirt with me. I'm 5'11 and he is 5'5. He is married now, but I see his wife flirt with tall guys at parties all the time. It's not fair... it's just life.
heavenonearth
I am 157 cms, i am considered as a petite with a cute body thats why i am attracted to much taller guys & i find short guys less manly than tall guys. Well then he is still taller than you. It's the same as me dating someone 1,72 tall when I am 1,64. And that was ok when I did. I also once dated someone who was exactly my height and after a while, i noticed that I just wasnt physically attracted to him. My current BF is 1,93, and I prefer that. But if you fall in love with someone, does the height really matter?

guest569
How does it feel? In short, it hurts my neck. 5 ft 5 isn't much shorter than me. Meh.
mortensorchid
I'm 5'10". I am used to fact that most people are shorter than me, men as well as women. Height to a man is what big boobs are to women. When a man is short he has to make up for it other ways, usually by the Napoleon Complex (big personality). Remember that life is complicated. And people are complicated. We all have issues we are trying to deal with and there are things we can and cannot change about ourselves. There are positive things about being short - women can use it to more of an advantage than men can, but the world thinks you're cute. Part of me would love to be thought of as tiny and cute, but I'm big and intimidating to some because of my height. And yes, I've been with men who were shorter than me. I never saw it as anything that had to do with "us", I wanted to know the man before me. And his character positive or negative points didn't have much to do with his personality. There was a long running joke where I went to college the first time around that all the guys were short, which they seemed to be. A few years ago I had an OLD with a guy who went to said college - and he stood up and came up to my cheekbone. I had forgotten, I almost burst out laughing. But that's another story ... Don't let it bother you. Look to who he is.
bluefeather
Suggested he buys elevator shoes & shoe lifts from amazon. I probably would've dumped you right there. You're not wrong for having preferences, but don't try to change someone to fit your little picture of perfection.
