buzzie2 Posted August 10, 2005 Share Posted August 10, 2005 Help! My cousin just asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. It's not until next April but I'm really nervous. Is there anyone who has been a bridesmaid before that can tell me what it's like and maybe give me some advice? Also, where is a good place to find affordable wedding or bridesmaids dresses? Angelina1433 Posted August 10, 2005 Share Posted August 10, 2005 Being a bridesmaid is fun, IMO! This is an exciting time in your cousin's life, and one she'll never forget. I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding, and we had a ball. Granted, she is very laid back - not even close to a Bridezilla. She only had one meltdown while she was dressing right before the wedding. Even though I wasn't the maid of honor, I had the responsibility of throwing the bachelorette party - and it was a hit. Traditionally the MOH "coordinates" who's going to do what. But if you have a laid back group of girls, you can all talk about who's doing what and when. As far as bridesmaids' dresses go, the bride picks them. You and the rest of the girls will usually go with her and try them on, then she picks. She'll probably try to pick a dress style that looks great on every body type. For my other friend's wedding that's coming up, everyone is just wearing the same solid color instead of style. Whatever you do - don't worry! This is a fun time. Just do WHATEVER the bride wants. I wouldn't recommend arguing. It is, afterall, her day. Good luck. Link to post Share on other sites
