Fair
I would say everybody has been cheated on at least once.
SammySammy
I don't think everybody has been cheated on. We don't know if most women have been cheated. However, I'd bet women who believe and say things like "most women have been cheated on" have a higher tendency to be cheated on. Self-fulfilling prophecy. And low expectations.

Imported
Well, if your sister said so, than it must be true. She is 41 years old after all.

hotpotato
Yes, i've been cheated on at least once. If you want to count when dumpers have someone else lined up,that would be multiple times for me. Many times they are dating someone else while still in a relationship.

knabe
I've been cheated on one time. It hurt like heck, but I survived, and now my life is wonderful. The older I get, the more I believe that while we may not be able to choose what happens to us, we CAN and DO choose how we respond and how we continue to live. And those choices are 100% on us.
dichotomy
Having read that statistics are unreliable..... I have read something like half of all marriages will include infidelity at some point. Also read somewhere it was like 60/40 Men/Women cheating but that women were catching up quickly as cheaters. I can accurately say i have been cheated by women in at least half my LTR's (includes Marriages). As a man I have never cheated on a woman, but past performance is no guarantee of the future. Cookiesandough
I don't understand Cheating. I think maybe you have to be in the circumstance to understand. I don't mean to cast stones, but potentially destroying a bond so hard to build just to get a nut off or staying in relationship when you're unhappy and sneaking around on them to get fulfillment elsewhere... that truly escapes me.

central
Women are cheating at close to the same rate as men. So, if you've been in a handful or more of dating or serious relationships, the odds are very good that you've been cheated on at some point, whether or not you find out (and most cheating is not found out). If you've only ever been in a few relationships, you may have escaped being cheated on - so far. Long term, you're still at risk.

BluEyeL
I was cheated on . Not sure about "most women".
RecentChange
Sure most people I know have been cheated on at some point. Now....keep in mind this isn't the sort of thing everyone announces all over town. My husband cheated, I didn't tell anyone. I cheated, he didn't tell. I know a very good friend was cheated on before her wedding, I suspect she never told anyone else. I know of a few others, where "something" was alluded too.... But far from common knowledge. Sometimes it's a huge blow up and everyone knows, but often it's hidden in the closet. I also know a number of cheaters who haven't been caught by their spouses.

preraph
Every woman I know has been cheated on. But you can get into semantics. Before OLD, when is mainly what I'm talking about, there were not so many pat definitions of terms like "exclusive" and "committed." It was more like once an adult, you had a boyfriend but then you skipped what is now the agreed upon "exclusive" phase which when I was young was "going steady" but adults didn't use that term, which is why we skipped it. Then you became engaged and so on. So I feel I was badly cheated on when someone I'd had a hot and heavy affair with slept with my old friend and roommate during what was a rocky period after I found out he was seeing another woman even though he was acting like he was nuts about me and I was in love with who I hoped he was. I didn't really consider him dating the other woman cheating, but I did consider it cheating when he did my old friend and ruined that relationship for me as well as ours. To me, it was close to the worst kind of cheating because he was so deceptive. I in retrospect realize someone who thought he wanted to marry me was also cheating on me and I did consider us exclusive since he had mentioned the M word, although I was not really on board to get married to him. But I had curtailed a lot of my social life to give us a chance and then as soon as I broke up with him he brought a woman he'd previously told me was hotly after him in from out of town, whom he'd been traveling to see on business. At the time, I didn't really care. But in retrospect I figured out that even though I trusted him because we'd been good friends prior, he was also doing cheatery stuff like all the others.

Arieswoman
I'd agree with this from knabe The older I get, the more I believe that while we may not be able to choose what happens to us, we CAN and DO choose how we respond and how we continue to live. And those choices are 100% on us. I have been cheated on twice. The first was my exH, the second was a guy I was seeing about 2 years later. Both times I ended the relationship and moved on.
Chilli
l think almost anyone's these days has been cheated on he or she at some stage . Matter of fact l actually hear a lot more stories in RL of her cheating than him.

Those that have been cheated on always seem to date the same kind a cheating loser that they always date. They only date Mr Wrong never Mr Right.
