matt1221
What does it mean if a girl calls you babe? She does have a boyfriend, but I find her very attractive and if it doesn't work out I'd be interested. She started calling me babe the last time we hung out (we were out with a group not just me and her). I thought I was hearing things then I heard it a few more times this past weekend. She doesn't use that word on anyone else (except maybe her boyfriend). As she was leaving I was on the couch and she came over and kissed my cheek and said "goodbye babe". Popsicle
I dunno, I'd say she likes you.

She's obviously friendzoning you. It's as if she is saying it to her little brother: Kiss on the cheeck "goodbye babe".
Bastile
Start escalating with her, and find out. Or else don't worry about it. But be decisive. Maybe use her as a pivot for your energy to help attract different women. Other women notice when you are flirting and having fun with one, and it makes you more attractive to the rest. But as someone else stated, be wary of falling into the little brother bubula dynamic (which is the opposite effect).

Bastile
Random girls generally don't kiss your face (unless your name is Tom Jones). Flirt with her a bit for fun. See how she takes it.
Reddice
Random girls generally don't kiss your face This is not just some random girl, he actually knows her. We can only speculate on the nature of their relationship, but I'm willing to bet on a brother / sister type of relationship. Of course, men are terrible at understanding the subtle clues and will take everything out of context, which is why OP is here asking for advice.

I've got a few years on her and we're really not that close. When I see her it's through mutual friends.
act00
It seems flirty. She has a boyfriend and she knows you're attracted to her and she seems to have attraction to you (not that she'll act on it), and it seems flirty. It could be kind of "parental" or "sisterly/family" pet name, if she uses this pet name with her family. I wouldn't read anything into it. I would probably just enjoy it, but if it makes you uncomfortable or projects to others that there's something going on between you two that shouldn't be, you should ask her to stop. She may not even realize "Babe" got spilled, it's just a natural pet name that rolls off her tongue when she really feels a bond with someone. Kissing you on the cheek is a bit much, and a bit too close and flirty if she doesn't behave this way with all her platonic friends.

thefooloftheyear
Except that she only calls me babe and nobody else. So it's not a word that she throws around often. Unless you followed her around 24/7, then how on Earth could you ever make that claim?? I get called "babe", "sweety", etc, actually pretty frequently...I don't think it means all that much...Some women are like that...Just like some women touch me when they talk..Grab my forearm, or something like that.. It could mean something, but IME, some women are just like that..Its how they operate and it's not meant to be taken as anything more than there way of interacting with men in a friendly way.. act00
Except that she only calls me babe and nobody else. So it's not a word that she throws around often. Which is why I said, if this is not normal behavior with everyone, there's something else there that singles you out. I stated it sounds flirty. I don't know what's going on with you two, but it seems lines are getting crossed and you two openly flirt despite she has a boyfriend...just really not good. You have mutual friends and what I see happening is sh*t meets fan at some point. Do what you're going to do, cheaters cheat, and oh lordy when you find out someday she's calling some other guy "babe" and kissing him on the cheek?? Boundaries. You need to curb your OWN behavior with this woman. You know she's off limits, but you're enjoying the attention and you're reciprocating, and I don't say this judgmentally because I have BTDT, but it's up to you to stop...just stop. You can't control her, but you can control you.
