No, what's sad is how some people limit their understanding. In your case, ignorance is bliss....... :p

I like the ceremonies, the cool churches and outfits and the latin, but that sort of sidesteps the question. If you were in the void and you had no attachment to a particular religion, how would you choose one over the other?

if I were seriously seeking a church home but had none? I'd do research, visit and see what they're about, not just go to services. Those that definitely wouldn't make the cut would be the communities that spend as much time and energy bad-mouthing other faith traditions as they do promoting their "positive" beliefs ...

have never been to a Latin Mass, and really don't want to -- I grew up in a small community where the faith, although solid, was a bit staid, I imagine it'd be much of the same. Give me a Spanish or bilingual Mass any day (outside an English-language service, as my Spanish is faulty at best). They've got wonderful music and the priest has no problem getting familiar with his congregation as he tries to encourage them to stay on the right track Not staid a'tall!!!

I know what you're talking about... been to a few of them in Argentina, and it was very retro, like being thrown into a time machine. Picture the opening scene from Godfather II. That's what it felt like.

hmmm, never really thought about it, but I wonder if most Hispanic Catholic liturgies are similar in that they're very colorful and joyful? My parish is predominantly Mexican, with a lot of newly arrived families (like in the past 10-15 years), and boy do we celebrate the holy days and holidays and feast days -- it's pretty exciting with the music and some of the traditions.

I've never watched any of the Godfather movies, though I heard about what they did to that horse!

First off nobody ever said anything about religion. If you look in my previous post I stressed the need for you to have a personal relationship with God. One thing you learn when you have a true relationship with God, is you will desire to please him.

How can you know how to please God? By having Faith in Him and exercising that faith by reading his word. Also by listening to the Holy Spirit to Guide you through the choices that you need to make. You will go through struggles and heart ace but listening to the Holy Spirit will help you make the right choice to get you to where you need to be in Christ. i.e ( a reply to your original post)

I Can lay claim to God because he gives us laws to abide by. "Like Christ said a tree is known by it's fruits" So just because it sounds like a Christian, looks like a Christian does not mean it is a Christian. You have to exhibt the Fruits of the spirit, which are love, joy,peace,patience,kindness,goodness,faithfulness,gentelness,self-control,. It states in God's Holy Word that against such things there is no law that can bring a charge. I am justified by Christ for choosing to accept the sacrifice that he made for me to CHOOSE to have a personal relationship with God.

DevilDogg here is what I want to say to you. James 1:1 count it all joy when your going through hardships, for the trying of your FAITH worketh Patience. So it is inevitable that we are going to go through hardships but it's what you do when your going through that matters most to God.

God could just as easily have us go through life without a care in the world, have everything always work out right, and for us never to lack for anything. But what would be our reward? What would we have to look forward to? Most importantly how would anyone realize that they need God, or how would they come to him unbiased?

So to you who want to call us Zealots. Go ahead I don't need your approval and if they Hated Jesus Christ, cursed and eventually Killed him how much more will the World dislike me. I do not and will not agree to disagree with something that does not line up with the word of God. My lord is straight forward in his Word of what he expects of us and that is what i will follow. I will on the other hand be open to discussion and if someone has question be willing to show them in the Word of God where there answer is. The thing about it when you do choose to have a personal relationship with God he will show and revel things to you while your spending time in pray and reading his word. There could be a verse that I've read a thousand times but one day the Holy Spirit will help me see it in a whole nother light. That's why when you choose to accept Jesus Christ into your heart he sends you the Holy Spirit who lives inside of you.
