Lobouspo
Hi I know this has been covered before on LS, but what tips do you have? Therapy has always been kinda of a weird thing for me. Last time I tried it, I found someone more out of convenience who didnt really help me and I didn't follow through. This time I want to meet with individual therapists and see who is a good fit, but will insurance typically cover multiple initial consults?
newmoon
i know my insurance covers an initial 8 consults, or close to that. and then they can increase it if you need more. but during the initial X number you're allowed to switch people i'm sure. go for your first visit and if you don't vibe w/that person go back to the same location but request another person each time until you find a fit. i think i went through 3 people before i found someone i liked - interesting that the first 2 were psychologists and the one I liked had a social worker degree - sometimes their background makes a difference in treatment/understanding.
