stemgeek
So if you wanna ask a girl out to dinner, is it better to ask her if , for example, "are you free Friday night", or something like "are you free either Thursday or Friday Night?".
Cookiesandough
Ask her when she is free
spiderowl
However you ask it, make sure you confirm time, date, place with her. I have had a few guys who have vaguely talked about meeting on 'Saturday' and then have not got in touch until Saturday. I don't meet guys at the last minute like this; I want time to prepare, put aside clothes, bathe, do hair, make sure I have cash on me, etc. If a guy does not confirm date/time/place in good time in advanced, I won't just spontaneously join him on the day. If he wants someone that spontaneous, he will have to look elsewhere. My female friends always confirm date/time/place, because it is polite. Why should a guy think this is not necessary? Guys seem to live on another planet.
d0nnivain
IMO asking for the specific date is better. It shows more confidence. If you get a no, then ask if another day or time would work better for her. Asking when she is free is OK, but an intelligent woman will ask why when faced with such a Q.

I was assuming she knew why because he had already asked her if he could take her on a date and she said yes. Then he asks her when she is free. Either works, though. Just think it cuts out the middle man
whatnot
delete....never mind. If she hasn't said "yes" yet....give a date. If she says she can't that day....tell her when you *can't*....they ask her what's good It not unlike making an appt. with your doctor lol Or any other human being. Just be "confidently you". You'll get a vibe....don't be afraid to run with it... Edited October 16, 2017 by whatnot
Cobra_X
So if you wanna ask a girl out to dinner, is it better to ask her if , for example, "are you free Friday night", or something like "are you free either Thursday or Friday Night?". "Are you free Friday night" is correct. If she says "No", then you follow up with either a secondary date or ask "what day would work for you?" Two points on this. The primary is that you want this on YOUR schedule not hers. I'm a busy guy... you should be too. The second is that you should be leading not following. Have a place to meet in mind, take her situation into consideration, but this is something you choose. Being indecisive only works if you look like a male model. Ask her when she is free Why lead with this?
GuitarGuy7
Usually when I ask a girl out, I say something like hey are you doing anything this weekend? Do you want to do (this) or we can always go do (that) As another guy here said, don't be indecisive. Make it clear that you want to see her and you have a place and time to meet.
