Upbeat music suggestions please

Hi everyone, I know we have done versions of this before but could not find one that quite fitted so I thought I'd start a new thread.

I have decided to get over my ex by doing some running and buying a 'personal player'.

I am going to download some music and want some ideas of good 'getting over him' songs.

I am after upbeat disco type/rock songs - can border on cheesy but please no maudlin songs - I want the I am better than him/he was no good/find a better man/loads of fish in the sea type songs to help me exercise.

Good ones to run too please.

I am thinking along the lines of 'fighter' Christina Aquelera and 'Its Raining Men'

Not into heavy hip hop but I do like rock.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

"Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior

That song never, ever fails to make me smile. If you do a Google search for 'Veer' and 'Move Your Feet' you can see the very cute 'Atari-graphics' style video.

Have had no contact with ex so doing ok - have decided to help myself by doing exercise -jogging/running/walking and have decided to treat myself to a personal downloadable music player to listen to.

I know we have slightly done this one before but some ended up being a list of sad reflective songs.

I am after upbeat joggable music ideas please, no sad songs. I like pop and rock some r & b but nothing too heavy and no hip hop please.

Can be cheesy but along the lines of don't want you back/better `without you/loads more men etc.

Thinking along the lines of Fighter - Christina, its raining men.

Posted on the coping forum too but seeing as situation was like MM (I am married, he said he was single but now suspect not) thought you may be able to come up with more specific songs on here.

Have put on weight - over 16 pounds maudling and comfort eating, time to burn the fat and need some upbeat songs! Song suggestions can be 'feel good general songs' too - don't have to be relationship specific, just some to cheer me up please.

Thank you x x x

Oh geez....I just looked at all my MP3's. I still have those stupid love songs that remind me about "him"......

I DELETED THEM - yes!!!

Oh here's one - download Sheryl Crow's "Soak Up the Sun"

And just for fun d/l The Corrs "I Never Loved you Anyways"

And for some real fun listen to "The Love Shack" B52's

I have been eating excessively too these past few weeks, and drinking...I put on some weight as well....Come monday I am turning this into exercise, working out and something self indulgent in a good way, like pedicure, maniure, haircut, etc.

Hopefully, the energy I get rid of in way of working out will let go of a lot of built up anxiety.

As for music, I just bought Shakira's new CD, it's pretty uplifting and sexy.

A few weeks ago I made myself a CD of more upbeat-type songs. I can't remember all of them, but here's some:

"Sweetness" ~ Jimmy Eat World

"A Praise Chorus" ~ Jimmy Eat World

"Things Can Only Get Better" ~ Howard Jones

"Rearviewmirror" ~ Pearl Jam

"Jerk It Out" ~ The Caesars (LOVE it when they're all "I'll be running circles around you sooner than you know"...take that! Hehe)

"I Will Learn to Love Again" ~ Kaci

"Never" ~The Roc Project f/Tina Arena ("Your love is so past tense..." Beautiful!)

How about some old R&R?

Bob Seeger "Old time rock and roll" [that music just sooths my soul]

"The Heart of Rock and Roll" [is still beating] (I can't remember the group's name)

I seem to remember a song by a group called Fine Young Canibals which was fun, but I don't remember the song now!

Oh, Right Said Fred: "I'm too Sexy"

Some of the fast and silly songs can help get through the heartache.
