Unfollowing my “almost relationship”

I talked to this guy for a month. He called me babe, and he really seemed set on being in a relationship with me. We went on an amazing date which he texted me by the way I’m not just making it up. Anyways he got distant and said he isn’t ready for a relationship. He said we should stay in contact and maybe hang out once holidays pass and he has more time. I was heartbroken. I took a break from social media and was getting over him. I come back to four snapchats of him acting like we’re friends and nothing ever happened. Feelings rushed back. I want to just be done with him and unfollow everything. But I don’t want to close doors or seem “petty” or bothered by the whole situation that only lasted a month. I also don’t want to just disappear with no explanation either. What should I do? He’s a nice guy and I don’t feel like just leaving him in the dark or making him think I hate him either. Help lol.
