marz Posted August 25, 2005 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Guyz i'm kind of new here can you plz help me: I have a friend who is a single mom, the problem is she's having problems with her finances when it comes to supporting her one and only child age 3, the father in the other hand visits his child but the problem is he dont give support to the child but he acknowledge the child, what do you think can she demand for a child support? gijane1128 Posted August 25, 2005 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Not only does the father have to be there emotionally, but financialy too. Because kids don't eat for free and clothing is not free. She could definetely pursue child support in a family court. She could also seek state aid, depending on where she lives and what they offer, or apply for "welfare". I hate using that word because it sounds a lot worse than what it really is. My sister is a single mother and she is struggling to get through college and working part time so I have a general idea of what she goes through. Does she have a family that is there for her when she needs? As for the father, yes it takes two to make a baby and he needs to be there financially also. Link to post Share on other sites
