They broke up senior year of college because he had GIGS. They got back together 2 years later. SHe made him beg. They have been married for 26 years. DH & I will be attending a wedding this summer. The couple were HS sweethearts. She dumped him in college because he needed to grow up. After college they met up at a mutual friend's party & the rest is history I tried to get back together a few months after a break up but the trust was gone & it was like walking on egg shells. Your problem is that you have yet to accept that it's over nor have you done the post mortem to figure out what lessons you are supposed to take as you move forward in life.
