Limping along

I went out for a bit tonight. I had been tired of sitting at home alone and decided to try to get out for a bit. So I went to a bar.

It was depressing. I stayed for about two hours and sipped a drink. I chatted with a few people here and there. And that was that. I went home. Fail? Not exactly, I got out of the house a bit. Not every night can be a hit of course but ... It was depressing to be out and bored when I thought I should be a home and bored. But I got out and that was what mattered.

That's GREAT!!! Not every night is going to be a successful venture, but you did it!

Personally, I'm proud of you.

Don't be depressed, chalk it up as a victory!!

I second what lemming said. That is a great first step. I wish I had the courage to go to a bar and sit and talk to people. I’m just too shy. It does seem better than sitting at home sometimes and you never know who you’ll meet. If not tonight, maybe another night.

Hey, you got out. You went to a bar. On your own. You even chatted to people. You're more game than many people I know - including myself. Like you say, not every night is a hit but try and find something good about your venture. If it was me, I'd consider a dull night out better than a boring night at home - at least it's a change of scenery!

Try another night, and a different bar. Mix it up a little. See what you like. :)

You only need to get lucky every once in while to a few awesome people. Just try being out and about. And not necessarily in bars... coffee shops, bookstores, meetups... might be better. :)

Sometimes I think that social dynamics of our lives can't be matched with what should be happening.

Its better to get out.
