NewLee40
I just thought I'd post this poem I wrote nearly a year ago about my relationship with my ex. You would have thought I wouldn't have put up with this as long as I did, but I'm thickheaded I guess. Maybe some can identify, but please...no poet critics. I know its bad on multiple levels.... LOL Lost in Translation Oh no, here we go again Say the words to pull me in A look, a word, a touch, a sigh The smallest spark blows me high Setting off a chain reaction I believe your words, and ignore your actions I'm lost in translation Building my hopes and expectations On the shifting sand of your affections I'm blinded by love and searching for direction And now, you don't even try to pretend Throw me a crumb, just to watch me bend Light my fire, and watch me burn Take what you need, but its never my turn You name me as your friend, yet you kiss me like a lover You say you need your freedom, but claim there is no other You blame it on the hurt, and chalk it up to fear You call to say you miss me, and then you disappear I'm lost in translation Such simple terms should need no explanation Is it your intention to deceive? Or do I just see what I want to believe?
Mary3
Excellent Poem I think it goes to show when one is the giver and one is the taker~~....one hopes ....and one does not care. I think its nice to write a poem when you don't feel anything anymore about the person ..
seachange
...they sound like lyrics to me. I like them. :-)
Author NewLee40
Sea, thanks, you made my day. I originally wrote them as song lyrics, but I called them a poem because I figured they didn't look like much of a song. LOL
Drivetildriven
Wow, that's awesome. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that most people on this site can relate to it. I know for me, it describes my story exactly.
