Did she blow me off? Or was it my fault

So this is a bit embarrassing for me but here goes

So back in October i had been to a certain store numerous times flirting with a particular beautiful girl. She definitley liked it....not giving me friendly smiles but “i like you “ type smiles and signals

She was just person who worked in the store..not a personal shopper But

i joked with her that she was my personal shopper. Everytime i went in the store i would joke with her about it and she would ignore everyone, fetching me things from around the store.

Now i know its not easy to just walk up to a girl in a store and ask for her number because no matter how good looking you are..if a girl doesnt know you she wont just give out her number..which is why i explained i have been to this store a few times to see her, to build a little bit of a friendly connection.

So the 3rd or 4th time i went into the store we talked again and i told her i was not interested in the clothes at the store..i was interested in her.. and asked for her number..she then said hold on...and went to the other girls at the register..i probably should have walked out..but i know this girl and its not just a random thing(which i would never do). She then came back and said she had a boyfriend and she couldnt give her number. I told her that we could just be friends so she could help me get in touch with my feminine side and we could talk about what i could get my mom for her birthday( lol im such a goof).

So she finally gave me a number which i put in my phone..i made her repeat the number to make sure it wasnt some number she made up. I called the number right there so it saved in my phone then left the store. 10 mins later i get a call from her number but didnt answer because i felt it was too soon to talk to her(if it was her)

I encountered a bunch of family/work problems over the next few weeks and did not reach out to her. I tried calling the number a few months later it went straight to voicemail everytime.. When i blocked my number it rang..she definitley blocked my number for whatever reason..

My question is..did she give me a fake number or was she just mad that i didnt pick up or didn't call her sooner resulting in her blocking my number ?

Yeah to answer the question in your thread title, you it was your fault (sorry).

Getting a girl's number--after all this time talking to her and overcoming her objections too--and then not calling/texting her for a few weeks....not so smooth. That you waited so long to get in touch with her--she probably wrote you off as a player. Or maybe she started dating someone else in the meanwhile.

Next time don't keep someone hanging. Strike when the iron is hot!

You coerced her into giving you her number. You tricked her into it. She said she wasn't going to do it, but you pressured her. She isn't interested in you that way. Sorry. You should just find a new place to shop.

Yep. I agree with posters above. I've encountered this before and after a couple of days of no contact, I move on and have no problem letting them know it.

See but I didn't take it that he coerced her (or put her in a tough spot) to get her number though. I took it as she initially said no, but then he made a joke which got her to laugh so she gave her number to him. Indeed, at one point SHE called HIM, which (even if she happened to have "pocket-dialed" OP) meant that she at least kept his number if not actually calling him herself.

But as far as waiting so long, yeah. THAT was where OP screwed up.
